RULE BOOK

MANTHAN’11 NIASoM, PUNE


General Rules:

 All the participants are required to carry a valid ID card of their institute.
 All teams to report to the event desk at least half an hour before to get briefed about the
event.
 The decision of the organizers and the panel of judges will be final and binding on all
participants.
 Certain events carry a registration fees.
 Last Date for registration is 24th February 2011, 11:59 PM.

Kertas Persembahan (Paper presentation):

Themes- Corporate cross and social networking


Social Network Advertising and Promotions

 Each team can have maximum of 2 students from same or different institutions.
 There is no restriction on the number of teams from an institute.
 The paper must be original.
 The paper should not exceed 2500 words.
 Detailed Reference list must be a part of the paper presented.
 Use of Schematic charts, Figures and Schedules is recommended.
 Last date for submitting the paper is 23rd February, 2011.
 All the papers would be evaluated based on content, innovation and relevance.
 The decision of the judges would be final and binding.
 The authors of selected papers will be contacted by phone/Email.
 Participants need to mail their entries to: [email protected] with the
subject as “Paper Presentation”.
 The participants should furnish the following details on the cover page of their
document:
a) Name of the Institute
b) Name of the Member(s)
c) Contact Number and Email Address

 The shortlisted Papers would be invited to present it at our college.


 The presentation should not exceed 15 minutes after which a 5 minute Q & A
session will follow.

Rencana bisnis (Business-Plan):

 Each team can have maximum of 2 students from same or different institutions.
There is no restriction on the number of teams from an institute.
 The plans must be original.
 An abstract not exceeding 1000 words must be submitted by 23rd February, 2011
 Use of Schematic charts, Figures and Schedules is recommended.
 All entries would be evaluated based on content, innovation and relevance.
 The decision of the judges would be final and binding.
 The shortlisted candidates would be contacted by phone/Email.
 Participants need to mail their entries to: [email protected] with
subject as “B-Plan”.
 The participants should furnish the following details on the cover page of their
document:
a) Name of the Institute and name of the member(s)
b) Contact Number and Email Address

 The presentation should not exceed 15 minutes after which a 5 minute Q & A
session will follow.

Miglior Manager (Best Manager):

 It is an individual event.
 More than one student from the same college is allowed to participate.
 An elimination round will be held on the day of the event.
 The rules of the judges will be final and binding.
 Exact date and time will be intimated in due course.
Pragyaan (Business Quiz):

 Each team should consist of 2 players.


 More than one team from the same college is allowed to participate.
 A written elimination round will be held on the day of the quiz.
 6 teams will qualify for the finals.
 The rules of the judges will be final and binding.
 Exact date and time will be intimated in due course.

Publicidad (Ad-Mad):

 Each team should consist of 3 players.


 More than one team from the same college is allowed to participate.
 An elimination round will be held on the day of the event.
 The rules of the judges will be final and binding.
 Exact date and time will be intimated in due course.

Bioscope (Movie Making):


 In this event participants have to prepare a movie clip of 10 – 12 minutes based on
given theme. Judging would be based on clarity of thoughts, message and presentation.
 Each team can have maximum 4 members.
 There is no restriction on the number of teams from an institute.
 Movie clip should not exceed 12 minutes.
 Videos should be submitted in standard formats like .dat , .mpeg, .avi etc.
 The movie should be original and should have copyright clearance if required.
 Language should be English or hindi.
 Teams should get their movies in a CD.
 The decision of judges will be final and binding.
 Any kind of vulgarity or racial bias or gender bias is not acceptable.

Mahuraat Trading (Mock Stock):

 Each team should consist of 2 players.


 More than one team from the same college is allowed to participate.
 The rules of the judges will be final and binding.
 Exact date and time will be intimated in due course.
Roller Coaster (Jam):

 It is an individual event.
 More than one student from the same college is allowed to participate.
 An elimination round will be held on the day of the event.
 Top 6 participants will qualify for the finals.
 The rules of the judges will be final and binding.
 Exact date and time will be intimated in due course.

Kricket Astami (Cricket):

 Each team should consist of 8+2 players.


 Only one team from a college is allowed to participate.
 The rules of the judges will be final and binding.
 Exact date and time will be intimated in due course.

Mr. & Ms. Manthan:

 Not more than 2 guys and 2 girls from the same college are allowed to participate.
 An elimination round will be held on 25th February, 2010.
 The rules of the judges will be final and binding.
 Exact date and time will be intimated in due course.

Holi Treasure (Treasure Hunt):

 Each team should consist of 4 players.


 More than one team from the same college is allowed to participate.
 The rules of the judges will be final and binding.
 Exact date and time will be intimated in due course.

Dus ka Dum (Tug of War):

 Each team should consist of 6 players.


 Not more than two teams from the same college are allowed to participate.
 The rules of the judges will be final and binding.
 Details of rounds and rules will be communicated at the time of event.
Bandhej/Bandini (Fashion Show)

 Minimum and Maximum number of participants should be 6 and 12 respectively


(including the organising helpers)
 Maximum time limit is of 10 minutes including 2 minutes for stage setting.
 Two members of the participating team should be allotted for music setup and lighting
purpose.
 Theme based show. Before starting the show, each team will give a brief idea about
their theme & costume.
 Obscenity should not be there.
 We are only responsible for providing infrastructure. Music and Costumes will be
arranged by participating teams only.
 In case show exceeds the maximum time limit, there will be negative marking.

Block Party (Volleyball):

 Each team can have at max 9 players (6+3).


 Only one team can participate from each college.
 Generally followed Volleyball rules will be applicable.
 Organizer’s decision will be considered as final decision.
 Team not maintaining the code may be disqualified.
 There will be limited number of entries and will be given on first come first serve basis.
 Details of rounds and rules will be communicated at the time of event.
 The organizers reserve the right to postpone, cancel the match/tournament and is not
bound for any clarification on it.

Face Painting

 Each team should consist of 2 players.


 More than one team from the same college is allowed to participate.
 The rules of the judges will be final and binding.
 Exact date and time will be intimated in due course.

Pool:
 Generally followed Pool rules will be applicable.
 Organizer’s decision will be considered as final decision.
 Team not maintaining the code may be disqualified.
 There will be limited number of entries and will be given on first come first serve basis.
 Details of rounds and rules will be communicated at the time of event.
 The organizers reserve the right to postpone, cancel the match/tournament and is not
bound for any clarification on it.
LAN Games:

A. Counter Strike
B. NFS Most Wanted

 The tournament will be knock out. The player who wins their 1st stage match advances
to the next stage.
 The knock out continues till we get final 4 top scoring players for the semi finals.
 There will be 5 players in each team.
 An entry fee for this game is Rs. 50 per team.
 Organizer’s decision will be considered as final decision.
 Team not maintaining the code may be disqualified.
 There will be limited number of entries and will be given on first come first serve basis.
 Details of rounds and rules will be communicated at the time of event.
 The organizers reserve the right to postpone, cancel the match/tournament and is not
bound for any clarification on it.

Kabad Se Jugad:

 More than one team can participate from each college.


 Each team comprises of 3-4 members.
 Raw materials will be provided to each team.
 Max time given to each team to make use of the raw material into a useful/creative
thing is 20 minutes.
 Each team will be asked to explain the purpose of the designed thing.
 Organizer’s decision will be considered as final decision.
 Team not maintaining the code may be disqualified.
 There will be limited number of entries and will be given on first come first serve basis.
 Details of rounds and other rules will be communicated at the time of event.
 The organizers reserve the right to postpone, cancel the match/tournament and is not
bound for any clarification on it.

AKHADA PANCHO KA (Mock Parliament)

 TIME LIMIT: (2+2+1)*2 +10 minutes


 PARTICIPATION: At most 2 team per college (5 participants per team)
 Judgement based on overall execution of the given agenda and costumes.
 It should be a simulation of the Indian parliament with the ruling party, opposition party
and speaker (From ruling party).
 Two participating teams will act like two parties- ruling party that will be for the given
agenda and the opposition party against the agenda of the house.
 Each team will be given 4+1 minutes by the speaker to present their point of view.
 After parties are finished with their allotted time the house will move into 'zero ' hour
in which house will have open discussion for 10 to 15 minutes(as per the evaluator’s
decision)
 Judges’ decision will be final and binding.
 Matter of discussion will be some current burning issues that matters to the nation.

Chess:

 Generally followed Chess rules will be applicable.


 Organizer’s decision will be considered as final decision.
 Team not maintaining the code may be disqualified.
 There will be limited number of entries and will be given on first come first serve basis.
 Details of rounds and rules will be communicated at the time of event.
 The organizers reserve the right to postpone, cancel the match/tournament and is not
bound for any clarification on it.

Table Tennis:

 Generally followed Table tennis rules will be applicable.


 Organizer’s decision will be considered as final decision.
 Team not maintaining the code may be disqualified.
 There will be limited number of entries and will be given on first come first serve basis.
 Details of rounds and rules will be communicated at the time of event.
 The organizers reserve the right to postpone, cancel the match/tournament and is not
bound for any clarification on it.

War of Rock Bands:

 Each team should consist of maximum 10 participants.


 More than one team from the same college is allowed to participate.
 The rules of the judges will be final and binding.
 Exact date and time will be intimated in due course.
 Participants have to bring their own instruments.
 Electric connections will be provided as required.
