1
1. Overall Guidelines for Semester 2
1.1 At the start of Semester 2 of Academic Year 2020/21, we are expecting more people to
return to campus.

1.2 It is important that you continue to follow the measures to ensure a safe community within
NYP. The NYP campus remains closed to public members.

2. Implementation of TraceTogether-Only Zone in Campus

2.1 When you come back to campus, you must proceed to a Temperature Screening Centre
(TSC) before heading to any facilities. All three TSCs (North, South and Central) will be open
for operations.

2.2 Before returning to campus, please ensure you have downloaded and activated the
TraceTogether app. TraceTogether allows for contact tracing in a quick and scalable
manner – and critical asSingapore tries to work to Phase 3. It also helps reduce the risk
of new transmission chains forming.

2.3 NYP, alongside other Institutes of Higher Learning, will become a TraceTogether-only zone.
This means that we have to use solely the TraceTogether app or token to do the SafeEntry
check-in when entering NYP. All individuals entering the NYP Ang Mo Kio campus will be
required to do this.

2.4 To get us all used to the system: everyone in the NYP community must start using the
TraceTogether app to scan the QR codes for entry from 19 Oct. Full implementation will
happen by 1 Dec 2020. From that time, there will be no entry allowed to campus without
TraceTogether.

2.5 If you cannot access the TraceTogether app, please let your PEMs know. They will arrange
for a TraceTogether token to be ordered and assigned to you.

3. Guidelines when Attending Classes

3.1 Please carry a digital version of your timetable with you. You may be required to produce
this at the TSC when requested. Please return to campus only when you have on-campus
classes or approved CCAs.

3.2 At the beginning of every on-campus class, lecturers are meant to ask you a whole series of
questions about your health and whether you have members in your household who are sick
etc. We will make this easier.

3.3 From 19 Oct, lecturers will flash a QR code at the beginning of every class. Scanning the
code brings you to an online form where you will be asked a few simple questions about
your health and whether you have been in contact with anyone with confirmed COVID-19.
You will need to be on NYP’s Wi-Fi network and log on with your student email ID.

• If you get an all clear, the app will give you a blue screen in the morning and a green
screen in the afternoon.

2
• While all lecturers will ask you to scan the QR code, you can show them your
blue/green screen if you have previously completed the form. (Because you used
your ID, the form is stored and refreshed each day)
• If you get a red screen, please alert your lecturer/project supervisor immediately.
You will need to leave NYP campus and return home. Refer to Annex A on the
follow-up action required.
• If you face problems in doing the declaration, refer to Annex B for FAQs to
troubleshoot.
• If you stay on campus for a longer period, you will have to do declarations twice:
Once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
• If you are unable to login or have forgotten your password, visit
https://cfapps.nyp.edu.sg/CF/SIMS/ResetPin/pin_reset_form.cfm to reset your
password. Lecturers will also flash a Reset Password QR code for you.

4. Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) Guidelines

4.1 CCAs will have more in-person activities in Semester 2. If you want to sign up for CCAs, you
can browse at the list on our website. Alternatively, you may want to sign up for activities
from the Student Life Academy, including talks and workshops. You may view the list of
activities by logging onto your student portal.

4.2 No student-organised activities or social gatherings are allowed on campus at this time.

5. Campus Facilities
Re-Opening of Entrance at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 9 and TSC North

5.1 In preparation of the bigger pool of staff and students returning to campus, the Ang Mo Kio
Avenue 9 vehicular gate will re-open from 14 October. TSC North will also open. Please plan
your journey to campus in advance, in anticipation of queues.

Recreational Facilities

5.2 Common recreational facilities such as the gym, swimming pool and T-Junction remain
closed for now.

The Library

5.3 The library will re-open from 02 Nov 2020 (Mon). For proper crowd management and safe
distancing, users have to make an advanced online booking prior to entering. Select a 2-
hour slot: (8.30am – 10.30am, 10.30am – 12.30pm, 12.30pm – 2.30pm, 2.30pm – 4.30pm).

Do note that the online booking system is not supported on Internet Explorer.
Please use Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox to access the booking system.

5.4 You can continue to collect library materials from the self-service smart lockers provided you
have been given approval by your School to return to campus.

3
i@Central

5.5 i@Central will re-open, only by appointments. PET and CET students can go to the student
portal to make appointments [under eservices → e-appointment]. The first slot is 8.45 am
and the last slot is 4.30 pm. For more information, view this link. You can also email
[email protected]

Canteens and Foodcourts

5.6 You must use TraceTogether to do SafeEntry checking in and out of our canteens and
foodcourts between 11 am to 2 pm. We are anticipating queues and large crowds. Please
plan accordingly.

5.7 Food vending machines around campus are in operation.

5.8 Due to the need to block off seat spaces for space distancing, the seating capacity is limited.
Therefore, please take note of the following:

a. Do your part, clean up and vacate the seats once you are done eating.
b. There will be safe distancing ambassadors to help enforce safety measures.

5.9 We have also freed up spaces at A347, TFA Lobby, sitting spaces outside Lecture Theatres,
and seats at the common linkway and gardens, for consuming your food. Please clean up
after you finish your meals.

5.10 Delivery drivers will be allowed to come into campus to pick up food from our canteen
operators. However, we do not encourage ordering in. If you must order in, the pick-up
points for food are TSC North and TSC South.

MakerSpaceNYP

4
5.11 MakerSpaceNYP will re-open from 02 Nov 2020.

i. If you need help with prototyping a school project at MakerSpaceNYP, contact the
coaches via the self-help resources at https://linktr.ee/makerspacenyp
ii. If you need to use the MakerSpaceNYP facilities/equipment for school projects,
approach your module tutor/supervisor, to help make an appointment at least two
working days prior. You are to indicate to your module tutor/supervisor on your
preferred 2-hour slot booking (1.3pm – 3.30pm, 4.00pm – 6.00pm, or 6.30pm –
8.30pm). Please do a basic wipe down before you leave.

at an SHN facility and COVID-19 testing.
b. You may encounter delays due to changes in the COVID-19 situation while travelling.
This means your ability to attend class and assessments may be impacted. This may,
in turn, cause delays in your academic progression or graduation.
