A Guide ToTake Online Chemistry Tests At Metu-Ncc

HOW TO TAKE CHM 107, CHM 111, and CHM 237 ONLINE EXAMS
_____________________________________________________________________________

As announced before (see the course syllabus), all quizzes will be online. In order to acquaint
you with this, we are running a trial online exam this week.

Please adhere to the following step-by-step guide that will take you to the server where all
quizzes will be placed by the course instructors. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL ONLINE
QUIZZES WILL APPEAR AS XXXXX.oet in this domain. PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT
YOU HAVE TO ACCESS THE TEST SITE WITHIN THE CAMPUS. IF YOU DO NOT
RESIDE AT THE CAMPUS, YOU WILL HAVE TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR THIS
REQUIREMENT.

Taking A Test In ExamView Player

1- From the Start menu, click on Run, and type the server address as \\144.122.156.10\
and click OK

2- User name and Password for accessing the server is:

User name: chemexam


Password: chemexam

Enter the username and password information and click OK.

3. A folder named “testexam” that contains the software and test file that you will use, will
be displayed. Double click on the displayed folder icon to open the folder.

4. Double-click on the “evplay” icon to run the software (1).

5. Allow the program to run by choosing Run from the opened dialogue box .

6. Enter your name and your METU student ID number, then click Next

7. Multiple tests may appear. Select the test as directed by your teacher (Test files have the
extension .eot and they are in the folder named \\144.122.156.10\testexam).

8. Enter the password (Your teacher will provide you with the password) and then click
Next

9. Read the instructions (you must verify that your personal details are correctly displayed
on the dialog box), then click Start

Verify that your name and ID appears on the screen

Note how many questions you have to answer.

Click or Type your answer

Click the Next arrow to go to the next question.

Go To Button

Click to the Go To button to open the Go To Question menu.

Unanswered questions are marked with a red star.


Click a question and then click OK to jump to the selected question.
Check here before you End the test to make sure you haven’t skipped any questions.

End Button

Click the End button to end your test.

You will be told if you have any unanswered questions, or if you have answered all
questions. If you are sure you want to end the test, click “Yes”. Otherwise click “No” to
return to the test.

NOTE THAT ONCE YOU EXIT THE TEST YOU CANNOT GO BACK. EACH
STUDENT CAN TAKE EACH TEST ONLY ONE TIME.

FURTHER INFO

We plan to have at least 6 quizzes in this current semester for each course. All quizzes will be
multiple choice tests. Except for the trial version, each quiz will have a unique name. For
example, the first CHM 111 quiz may look like “CHM111S14-15-Q1.eot”. You will be notified
of the actual name of the test that you have been assigned to in advance by e-mail. SO PLEASE
CHECK YOUR METU INBOXES OFTEN.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL ALSO BE NOTIFIED OF THE STARTING AND
ENDING DATES AND TIMES OF EACH QUIZ. YOU CANNOT ANSWER THE TEST
PRIOR TO AND BEYOND THESE.

Each test will differ from the other, and you will be automatically notified of your result next day
by the system. You may print your results if you wish to do so.

TEST RESULTS WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE SENT TO YOUR INSTRUCTOR.
