General Guidelines and Forward Action For IDP 202 Execution

This document provides guidelines and a timeline for students to complete their IDP 2020 projects. It outlines 8 key evaluation criteria including a proposal, peer review, log book, and final report. Students must submit a video presentation and poster by June 19th, and a final report by June 26th. The timeline details weekly activities from designing with CAD to conducting engineering analyses of materials, ergonomics, costs, and sustainability. Complexity elements and a 10 minute maximum for presentation videos are required. All work must be completed within the semester with no extensions.

General Guidelines and Forward Action for IDP 2020 Execution

IMPORTANT NOTES

PROJECT PROJECT
OUTPUT CONDITION
Functional
prototype CONDITION 1:
Continue the existing physical prototype for
OR
groups with good progress (e.g. already
achieved medium fidelity prototype).
Computer-
simulation based
CONDITION 2:
prototype
Continuation and improvisation of simulation
based project from the last PDM assignment
for groups which does not satisfy condition 1.

1. Complexity elements
Students and supervisors must ensure complexity elements are embedded in the
project. Please refer to EAC manual 2020 for detail explanation of complexity.
2. Presentation
Students need to record their presentation video and upload the video file through U-
Learn or YouTube (please submit the link to U-Learn). Maximum video duration is 10
minutes.
3. IDP subject must be completed within this semester – no extension.
4. All groups need to compile all the documents (proposal, peer review, log book,
presentation video, poster, CAD drawing and final report) in a CD and submit the CD
after MCO.
