We collect an electricity bill and find out the given question in the slide answer.
1. Here I have taken the electricity bill of the month September, 2020.
Usage of the unit price: 7884.07
Demand Charge : 240.00
Principle Amount : 8124.07
5% vat : 406.20
Total Monthly Bill : 8530.27
Total Payable : 8937.00
= 8529/917
=9.30
5. Energy efficiency refers to completing a task using less energy input than usual. There are
many opportunities to become more energy efficient. Some of the notable ones are as
follows:
Refrigerators and freezers should not be located near the stove, dishwasher or heat vents,
or exposed to direct sunlight. Exposure to warm areas will force them to use more energy to
remain cool.
Computers should be shut off when not in use. If unattended computers must be left on,
their monitors should be shut off. According to some studies, computers account for
approximately 3% of all energy consumption.
Chargers, such as those used for laptops and cell phones, consume energy when they are
plugged in. When they are not connected to electronics, chargers should be unplugged.
During warmer months, close blinds, shades and drapes on the sunny side of your home
to help keep your home's temperature cooler and reduce the work for you AC. Open shades
during cooler months to let the sun warm your home.
6. Energy conservation refers to behaviors and actions that people can do to save or use less
energy. Now, three actions by which we will be able to conserve energy are as follows:
LED bulbs are the most energy efficient lighting option. LED bulbs use 75% less
electricity than incandescent bulbs (Energy Star). The also have no mercury, and last about
25 times longer than traditional incandescent bulbs.
To reduce energy consumption in your home, you do not necessarily need to go out and
purchase energy efficient products. Energy conservation can be as simple as turning off
lights or appliances when you do not need them. You can also use energy-intensive
appliances less by performing household tasks manually, such as hang-drying your clothes
instead of putting them in the dryer, or washing dishes by hand.
Turn off lights when not in use: It's probably the easiest thing you can do to reduce
energy waste, but it's often the most overlooked action a homeowner can take. One high-
tech way to simplify this easily forgotten task is to hire an electrician to install motion-
sensing switches that automatically turn off lighting when a person's presence is not
detected.
7. If soha turns off the A/C when the room gets cool and turn off fan keeping doors and
windows closed then she can save more electricity. The idea of energy Conservation
suggests making effort to use less energy. Ceiling fan consumes less energy than A/C. So
this behavior of Soha will also help her to save electricity as well.
8.In the sample bill, we can notice that from the month of February and September the
electricity bill of the same household is increased by 4 times. The reasons behind this
increase are as follows:
A Misusing Lights and Ceiling Fans: misusing lights and ceiling fans can boost the electric
bill. If the fans and lights were turned on while not using wastes lots of energy and increases
bill.
Getting new power hungry electronics and keeping them on always: One of the main
reasons the electric bill of the house hold spiked up may be they bought new A/C and other
appliances or electronics. They might have plugged in whether they’re using them or not.
