Lumpaz, Jan Paolo M. 3 Year Bsba - Marketing Management An Activity in IBA 101 Initial Plans For My Vlog

Jan Paolo M. Lumpaz is a 3rd year BSBA student in Marketing Management. He is creating an initial plan for his vlog on machine learning as part of an IBA 101 activity. The vlog will be entertaining and easy to understand for general audiences. It will discuss key terms like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning. It will also cover topics like the relationship between AI, machine learning and deep learning, categories of machine learning algorithms including supervised, unsupervised, semisupervised and reinforcement learning, and challenges in deploying machine learning in enterprises. For his working slides, Jan Paolo will only share the topic outlines now and save the final aesthetics for his December submission.

LUMPAZ, JAN PAOLO M.

3RD YEAR BSBA – MARKETING MANAGEMENT

An Activity in IBA 101

INITIAL PLANS FOR MY VLOG

1) Video Presentation

For my video presentation, given that the entirety of the vlog content is very
technical and has special words and terms that are used by a particular
profession or group (especially those that are in the field of business and
information technology) and are difficult for others to understand, I’m
planning to make it fun and entertaining for everyone to watch so that the
viewers will not be bored and will have the enthusiasm to finish watching
the whole video.
1.1. Visuals
I’m planning to add some visual effects, some background music and
transitions to my video presentation to get the feels of a legit vlog that is
usually produced by vloggers on Youtube and other social media or
streaming platforms. If necessary, I will also add images, diagrams and
flowcharts to make it easier for the audience to grasp the things that I am
talking about and discuss on the video.
1.2. Content
As for the content of the video presentation, since there is an
indicated time limit (the video should not exceed beyond 10 minutes), I will
only include and discuss about the most essential parts that I have read on
the article. The content of the video consists of the introduction, defining the
major key terms and the discussion on important subject matters such as
the relationship between Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep
Learning, Categories of Machine Learning Algorithms, and so on.
2) Presentation Contents

The following topics are expected to be tackled on the presentation.

It is important to note that this is just an initial plan and will just serve as an
outline for the final output that is going to be submitted on December 7,
2020. Also, several changes might happen along the way. That simply
means that some subject matters that are not listed here might be included
on the final output.

• Introduction

• What is Machine Learning?

Machine learning has great potential to reduce the cost of
goods and services, to speed up business processes and to better
support clients. It is recognized in this era of exponential
technological growth as one of the most significant application fields,
and its adoption is gaining traction across almost all industries…….
(and so on)………
• Relationship of AI, Machine Learning and Deep Learning
These words overlap and are easily misunderstood - AI,
machine learning and deep learning, so let's start with some short
descriptions. AI means having a machine to in some way imitate
human actions. Machine learning is a subset of AI, consisting of
methods that enable computers to recognize information and deliver
AI applications. Meanwhile, deep learning is a subset of machine
learning that allows more complex issues to be solved by
computers…. (and so on)…...
• Categories of Machine Learning Algorithms
1) Supervised Machine Learning
In order to classify the mapping function with a data set
consisting of input and output pairs for classification and prediction
purposes, supervised machine learning is used….. (and so on)…….
2) Unsupervised Machine Learning
The aim of unsupervised machine learning is to capture the
association or similarity between input data for theme analysis or
grouping purposes especially when there is no knowledge available
about desired outputs…. (and so on)……
3) Semisupervised Machine Learning
Semisupervised machine learning is a two-stage or multistage
process that uses one learning type as preprocessing for the other,
thus employing elements of both…… (and so on)…….
4) Reinforcement Learning
Reinforcement learning is used to train a software agent how
to behave on the basis of environmental feedback and reward
mechanisms…. (and so on)…..
• Challenges in deploying machine learning at enterprises

3) Working Slides

For the working slides, to add an element of surprise, I will

just put on the outlines of the topics that will be discussed on the video and
will not show the overall aesthetics of the working slide that I’m going to
utilize for the final output in December. Hence, a plain powerpoint
presentation will just be submitted for the mean time.
