Basic Personals Questionnaire

Write answers for the following questions in 200-300 words.

1. Tell us something about yourself


I am an engineer in electronics and communication. I completed my graduation from
DCRUST, Murthal. During my graduation, I was interested in various clubs and activities and
hence, decided to join few of the during my first year itself. I performed drama for two years
and won several accolades. I have been interested in sports since a very tender age, I used
to play chess till Xth standard and have even held positions at the state level as well as CBSE
level. In graduation, I developed an inclination towards badminton. I led the college team at
the intra university competition and we won the gold medal. I have even represented MDI at
various bschool fests and won prizes in the last two years. I developed an interest in
marketing and finance during the first year at MDI, and hence wanted to pursue them
further as my specialization, but slowly, I felt that finance was not something I was looking
for and switched to operations.

Advanced Personals Questionnaire


This form has important situational questions which require you to quote various instances
from your life and highlight different qualities. You can choose to follow the CARE (Context
action result) approach. Read more on the approach here. Do read the examples given in the
link.

Please think of examples/incidents from your personal or professional life, for each of the
following situations. An incident could fit under one or more of these situations. Write
your answers in about 300 words.

1. Mention an incident in your life where you convinced a group of people to do a task. How
did you go about it and what were the problems and learning? What was your contribution
to the whole thing?
2. Detail an incident where you resolved a conflict.
3. What is one setback you have faced in life and how did u cope with it and emerge victorious?
(either professional or personal)
4. Give an example of a situation where you faced an ethical dilemma.
5. Give an example of a situation where in you had to lead a group towards some very
important goal.
6. An example of a time when you had to work with others and accept their view point though
you had a different view point no one agreed with.
7. An example of a time when you used someone else's idea to solve a particular problem that
you faced or your group faced.
8. An example of a time when you had to achieve something very critical with limited
resources. Explain the situation and the limitations faced as well.
9. An example of a time when you helped someone overcome their problems and understand
their capabilities in order to emerge successful.
10. A time when you implemented an innovative idea that changed the whole process of how
something was done.
11. An illustration of a time when people came to you for help, how you handled it, what the
outcome was, and what did you understand about yourself from the process-strengths as
well as weaknesses.
12. A time when you had to deal with a complex situation in a not-so-traditional way and had to
come up with innovative ideas and a unique solution to solve the problem in hand.
13. A situation when you had to decide between two alternatives - in effect a tough decision.
State the alternatives, which one you chose and why.
14. A situation when you felt handicapped or not so comfortable, why and how you tackled it.
15. A situation when you had to work with a group and co-ordinate in order to achieve specific
results within a particular amount of time.
16. A time when you felt you could have done something better than how you had actually done
it, why and what the learning process out of it was.
17. An example of a time when you compromised on values

19. A situation when you put in efforts/ performance beyond requirements
20. An illustration of a time when you had a difference in opinion with the team, but you went

23. Give an example of a situation where you took a risk which paid off.
24. An instance you received constructive feedback and how you worked on it.
25. A time when things didn't go according to plan. How did you improvise, and what was the
result?
