Assignment 1 - Engineering Electromagnetics PDF

The document provides 4 physics problems involving point charges and calculating electric force and field. Students are instructed to show their work and solutions on paper, take a photo of it, and upload it to Google Classroom. They are also told to stay safe. The 4 problems are: (1) calculating the vector force and electric field from two point charges, (2) finding the magnitude of the force in problem 1, (3) calculating the force on a charge from 4 other charges in a square formation, and (4) calculating the force and electric field on a charge from 5 identical charges in a square formation.

Solve the following problem requirement with solution in another blank short bond paper.

Take an image of your answer sheet/s and upload to respective classwork in google

classroom. Stay safe and God bless you!

1. A 10𝑢𝐶 point charge say 𝑄1, is located in a rectangular coordinate system at point (1,2,3) and

another point charge 𝑄2 = 20𝑢𝐶 is at (−1, −2, −3). Find the vector force on the first charge.

Determine also the electric field at point (0,0,1) from the two charges.

2. Determine the magnitude value of the force of #1.

3. Four like charges of 30𝑢𝐶 each are located at (1,1,0), (−1,1,0), (−1, −1,0) 𝑎𝑛𝑑 (1, −1,0)

which will form a square where distance between corners was √8m. Find the force on a 100𝑢𝐶

charge located at (0,0,5).

4. Five identical 15𝑢𝐶 point charges are located at the center and corners of a square defined by

−1 < 𝑥, 𝑦 < 1, 𝑧 = 0.

a) Find the force on the 10𝑢𝐶 point charge at (0,0,2)

b) Calculate the electric field intensity at (0,0,2)
