1. Why there is need to understand Intercultural Communication?

- Understanding Intercultural communication helps different country to avoid miscommunication


and misunderstanding between and among countries. It also helps different countries to
appreciate and respect cultural differences. It offers the ability to deal across cultures, which is
increasingly important, as the world gets smaller. With the help of English as a global lingua
franca we are able to arrive at a more peaceful communication and interaction with other
countries.

2. How can you become more intercultural without having to immerse first hand in a foreign
culture? 

- Practice it within your country, for example here in the Philippines we have a lot of culture
that is undeniably different from one another. They have their own language, way of living,
beliefs and many different things. First is learn things that they usually do, understand their
way of speaking including their tone of voice, expressions and emotion, and lastly try to
communicate with them with full respect and appreciation to their valuable culture.

- Globalization has a positive effect in communication. It gives progress in many different


countries and as the communication between the countries becomes open, sharing of
information became easier due to globalization. Transportation of goods, products and many
other valuable things are way faster than before by the help of good communication.
Transaction between countries become easier and it save more time that is why in order to
achieve progress communication is the key.
