GUÍA DE INGLÉS

UNIDAD I. USAR EL INGLÉS PARA APRENDER MÁS INGLÉS

Objetivo: Intercambiar información acerca de la estructura, su vocabulario y usos comunicativos de la lengua, con propósitos de
aprender más acerca de la misma.

1. Metalingüística.
-What is “neighborhood” in Spanish?
-What’s the meaning of “sneakers” in Spanish?
-How is the “auxiliary” used in the Simple Present?
-How do you pronounce this word?
-What’s the difference between “again” and “against” -Can you repeat
that, please?

UNIDAD II. SALUDAR Y PRESENTARSE

Objetivo: Conocer la fórmula y patrones lingüísticos que permitan la presentación, proporcionar los datos personales (nombres,
nacionalidad, origen, edad dirección y número de teléfono y ocupación) e identificar a otros.

1. Saludar formal e informalmente.


-Hello/ Hi. I’m Rafael Sánchez
-Nice to meet you. My name’s Rosario López.
-How do you do?/How are you?

2. Presentarse: Identificación personal.


-Where are you from?
-I’m Mexican , I am from Guadalajara. My hometown is Tlaquepaque.
-Where do you live?
-I live in Tlalpan, on Sauzales Street, that’s in the Southern part of México city.
-Are you a student?
-Yes, I’m in high school now.

3. Pedir y dar información personal.


-What’s your phone number?
-It’s 6321094 (six, three, two, one, oh, nine, four)

4. Identificar al interlocutor y a terceras personas. -I am a highschool student, and you? -Where are you from?
-Who is he/she?
-Who are they?
-Excuse me, are you Miss Mendoza?
-What do you do?
-What does he/she do?
-What do they do?

5. Deletrear nombres y apellidos.


-How do you spell your last name please?
-Can you spell your name please?

UNIDAD III. LOCALIZAR LUGARES

Objetivo: Pedir y dar información sobre los servicios de la comunidad (escuelas, bancos, tiendas, transportes, etc.) y su ubicación.

1. Ubicar lugares y objetos.


-Excuse me, is there a bank near here?
-Yes, there is one right around the corner. And there are two more on the nex block.
-I’m loking for a city map.
-There is a newstand across the park.

-Excuse me. Where is the flower shop?


-It’s on the first floor between the Italian restaurant and the beauty shop.

2. Dar y seguir instrucciones para localizar servicios -How do I get to Sanfer’s restaurant?
-Go along Mart Street and take the first left. It’s on your right.
-Can you tell me the way to the British bookstore?
-Sure. Walk two blocks and turn right. It’s on your right. You can’t miss it.
-Thank you.
-Not at all/You’re welcome.

UNIDAD IV. RELACIONES FAMILIARES

Objetivo: Identificar a las personas por sus relaciones familiares.

1. Describir actividades de parientes. -What does your father do?


-My father work in a bank from 8 to 4.
-How old is he?
-He’s 45.
2. Identificar personas y sus actividades.
-Do you have any brothers or sisters?
-Yes, I have two brothers and one sister. -No, I don’t.

UNIDAD V. DESCRIBIR RUTINAS Y PREFERENCIAS

Objetivo: Utilizar formulas y expresiones para describir actividades diarias y preferencias.

1. Describir actividades diarias.


-I usually get up at six. First I take a shower and have a light breakfast… -Laura is an accountant. She works
in an office. She leaves home at 9 and comes back at 5 p.m.
-Who does the shopping at home?
-Well. I go to the supermarket with Mom every Saturday.

2. Expresar preferencias.
-Do you like to read?
-Yes, I love science fiction stories.
-Would you like to watch TV?
-Not really. I’d rather go out and play with my friends.
-Pizza is my favorite food.
-I love grapes.

3. Informar acerca del costo. (How much/how many).


-I’d like some bananas.
-How much are they?
-Do you need any milk?
-How much is a kilo of potatoes?
-We need two pounds of chicken.

4. Hablar de cantidades.
-I’d like 2 kilos of potatoes, please -How much
coffee should I buy?
-Oh, I kilo will be enough.
-How many eggs do we need for the cake?/Mm, about a dozen.

UNIDAD VI. DESCRIBIR ACTIVIDADES REALIZADAS EN EL MOMENTO

Objetivo: Utilizar expresiones y vocabulario necesario para hablar sobre lo que se está haciendo.

1. Describir actividades que se realizan en el momento. -Hi Frank. What


are you doing?
| -Hello. Sally. I’m fixing my bike.
-Oh I see. Where is Carol? What’s she doing? -In the kitchen. She’s
washing the dishes.

-Hello, is Susan there?


-Sorry. She’s taking a bath.

-Who are you loking for?


-A waitress.
-I don’t see one.

-What are you talking about?


-About my last summer visit to the U.S.A.

UNIDAD VII. HACER PLANES

Objetivo: Conocer la información acerca de los planes que se tiene para próximas vacaciones.

1. Hacer planes futuros.


-What are you going to do next vacation?
-I’m going to Oaxaca.
-What are you going do there?
-I’m going to swim in the sea and visit the ruins.
-How about you?
-Well, I’m going to work at “Reino Aventura”.

-Are you going on vacation next holidays?


-No I’m not.

UNIDAD VIII. LA HORA Y EL CLIMA

Objetivo: Conocer expresiones y vocabulario necesario para hablar sobre la hora y el clima.

1. Pedir y dar la hora.


-Excuse me, what time is it?
-It’s a quarter past three.
-Quarter past three?
-Yes, three fifteen.
-Thank you.

2. Ubicar el tiempo.
-It’s five o’ clock in México City. What time is it in Tokyo?

3. Describir climas.
-What day is today, Rebeca? -It’s Friday
-What’s the weather like? -Mmm… It’s sunny!

4. Indicar posesión.
-When is your sister’s birthday?
-It’s on April fourth.
-Mine is on April second.

UNIDAD IX. IR DE COMPRAS

Objetivo: Conocer expresiones y vocabulario necesario para hablar sobre prendas de vestir y objetos.

1. Ir de compras.
-Excuse me. I’m looking for a dress for my daughter.
-What size do you want?
-Well… she’s seven, but she’s very tall… -I think 9 would
be OK.
-These dresses are on sale.
-What colors do you have?

2. Ubicar objetos.
-Where can I buy some nice pants?
-I’m sorry, we don’t have any pants, but Leo’s is a good pants store.
-Where is it?
-It’s between the drugstore and the shoe store.
-Thank you very much.

3. Color, forma, tamaño y textura de cosas y objetos.


-I’m, looking for a sweater.
-They are over there.
-Any particular color?
-Yes, of course. The blue one.
-What size do you want?
-How does this sweater fit you?

UNIDAD X. ACERCA DEL PASADO

Objetivo: Intercambiar información acerca de actividades pasadas.

1. Narrar eventos pasados. Verbos reg./irreg.


-They went on a picnic.
-We visited our friends in Chicago. -I was at
home yesterday.
-We were at school in the morning.
2. Pedir información acerca del pasado.
-How was your weekend?
-What did you do last vacation?

-Did you listen to the morning news?


-No I didn’t.
