Handfasting Wedding Script

We  are  going  to  begin  this  ceremony,  welcome  everyone  as  we  gather  to  celebrate  the  marriage of
P1 and P2.

P1  and  P2  have  gathered  today  before  their  family  and  friends  to  make  a  statement  of  their
commitment  to  each  other  and  to  their  love.  This  is  not  the  beginning,  but  a  celebration  of  the  next
chapter in their lives together.

Are you here voluntarily to get married?

P1: Response
P2: Response

This service is meant to unite two hearts and two lives to make them one.

First  of  all,  congratulations  for  having  decided  to  take  this  great  step  that  involves joining your lives.
At  this  very  moment  you  confirm to your loved ones that you have found in each other someone who
completes you and with whom it is worth spending the rest of your days.

I  urge you to remember in front of these witnesses that love and loyalty are the basis for a lasting and
happy marriage.

As  you  know,  you  are  about  to  establish  a  very  serious  bond,  marriage  is  the  promise  between two
people who love each other, and who trust in that love, who honor each other as individuals, and who
choose to spend the rest of their lives together.

This  ceremony  will  not  create a relationship that does not already exist between you. It is a symbol of
how  far  you  have  come  these  past  few  years,  it  is  a  symbol  of  the  promises  you  will  make  to  each
other  to  continue  growing  stronger  as  individuals  and  as  partners.  No  matter  what  challenges  you
face,  you  now  face them together, and no matter how much you succeed, you now succeed together.
The love between you joins you now as one.

P1 and P2, today you not only marry the right person, you commit to being the right partner—the one
with whom the other can stand and face the world.

P1  and  P2,  you  have  chosen  to write your vows, and it is with these words you express your binding

promises  to  love,  honor,  and  cherish  one  another.  If  you  are  ready  to  make  these  promises  to  each
other I invite you now to face each other and declare your intentions.

P1, when you're ready you may begin.
P2, when you're ready you may begin.

Thank  you  for  sharing  your  vows  with  all  of  us.  The  rings  you  are  about  to  place  on  each  other's
fingers  are  symbols  of  the  love  you  expressed.  They  will  remind  you  of  the  vows  you  have  just
spoken, and of the eternal love that you have for one another.

P1, place the ring on P2's finger and repeat after me.

“I,  P1,  give  you  this  ring  as  a  sign  of my faithful devotion, as a symbol of our unbreakable bond. I will
always love you, cherish you, and honor the vows spoken here today.”

Now. P2, place the ring on P1's finger and repeat after me.

“I,  P2  Kahal,  give  you this ring as a symbol of my everlasting love for you. I offer you all that I have, all
that I am, and all that I will be and I will honor the vows spoken here today.”

Handfasting ritual initiation

P2  and  P1  have  chosen  a  traditional  ceremony  that  is  the  union  of  two  souls  that  is  materialized
through a tie of hands. This symbolizes the union of their individual lives.

P2 and P1 please show the guests the cord that will be the symbol of this beautiful union.

With  the  colors  Black,  Blue,  gray  and  green  that  symbolize  water  so  that  your love will always flow,
the  clouds  so  that  your  love  can  resist  any  storm,  harmony  and  faithfulness  that  you will show each
other  every  day,  and  it  is  the  representation  of  this  new  beginning  that  will  be  full  of  growth  and
kindness.

This  cord  is  a  symbol  of  the connection between your two lives. Just as your  hands are linked by this
cord, so your lives will also be linked in marriage.

TIE HANDS

These are the hands that will love you.
These are the hands that will love you.
These are the hands that will hold and comfort you through the years.
These are the hands that will give you support and encouragement.
These are the hands you will each work with, create with, and use to build a life together.
The knots of this binding are not formed by these cords but instead by your vows,
the promises you make in your hearts and uphold each day through your actions.
Remember, you hold in your own hands the making or breaking of this union.

That  being  said.  P2.  Do  you  take  P1  to  be  your  lawfully  wedded  partner,  to  have  and  to  hold,  in
sickness  and  in health, in good times and not-so-good times, for richer or poorer, committing yourself
unto them for as long as you both shall live?

Response:

Do  you P1 take P2 to be your lawfully wedded partner? to have and to hold, in sickness and in health,
in  good  times  and  not  so  good  times,  for  richer  or  poorer,  committing  yourself unto them for as long
as you both shall live?

Response:
By  the  power  given  to  me  by  the  AmP1n  Marriage  Ministries  and  by  the  State  of  Massachusetts,  I
now pronounce you legally married partners. Please, Seal this ceremony with a kiss!
