Lesson Plan for ED 4

Centralized on Learning Disabilities

Created by: Angelo David of BSE - English 2

Main objectives of the Lesson Plan

A. Cognitive

1. Gradually and thoroughly improve the cognitive abilities of the special learners.

2. Achieve fun and entertaining approaches or techniques that can attract their eagerness to
learn and master skills.

3. Unlock the potentials and deeper familiarity on their unique cognitive patterns.

B. Affective

1. Creation of support systems in class that can boost their confidence.

2. Achieve a non-discriminative learning environment and experience; addressing strengths and

weaknesses.

3. Extend all approaches to help learners with special abilities on their self-empowerment, most
importantly virtues such as love and trust.

C. Psychomotor

A. Actively gain their participation in body and mind exercises.

B. Mastery of cooperation and teamwork in available sports.

C. Evolve and continuously improve relations, acceptance and unity within the learners as they
engage in special activities.
Corresponding steps to meet the proposed objectives:

A. Cognitive

Cognitive activities will specialize in simple but fun games with attached learning. Examples of
these are boardgames such as scrabble, snakes and ladders, and crossword puzzles to expand
vocabulary, and improve thinking ability to strategize. Construction games and shape matching
activities help improve memory too. qOf course, the traditional story telling for entertainment
or modernly through watching educational videos and movies will retain. This strategy is mixed
to constantly keep the learners enjoyed, engaged and are paying good attention. This can be
done as usual as possible, because repetitions increase familiarity, and mastery is also a form of
habit, if such habits retain then it would be best to make habits out of fun and entertaining
activities while also having the sole purpose of helping the special children learn and improve
their mind.

B. Affective

Open forums for interactive and emotional mutuality among these special learners will be
practiced. The teacher will monitor this procedure and also join the discussion. To have anyone
understand you is the best form of love there is. To actually fulfill the role as their second
parent is the greatest sense of achievement for the vocation. Reward systems or positive
operant conditioning may also boost their participation and overall eagerness to fulfill activities.
According to its creator, B.F Skinner, Positive Reinforcement strengthens behavior by providing
a consequence an individual finds rewarding is most likely to be repeated, hence this will allow
the learners to exercise mastery of activities specially catered for their essential and affective
needs. Hopefully, as support systems go in open forums, the repetition of this activity may fulfill
the objective by allowing them to understand themselves, encourage themselves and most
ultimately, learn to love how they are.

C. Psychomotor

Steps in psychomotor are simple, mind and body sports to essentially improve individual and
team coordination. Such sports like basketball, a battle of chess or dama, volleyball, badminton
and so on will support the exercise of the mind or body and ultimately both, thus helping
achieve all the objectives into one for all the special learners involved. Sports may teach active
participation, cooperation, coordination, sportsmanship and compassion, the list goes on.
