Binky 3.

2 Update Procedure (Without Web Application)

Make sure that unit is Binky model and not Cruz. This can be verified by label on bottom of robot. It should say 1.67A and not
2.5A. If it says 2.5A, please let us know.
Plug in robot USB cable as though you are doing a Web Update. Make sure robot is being recognized as a windows device. It
should show up as “Neato Robotics USB Port (COMx)”. If it is not, follow the steps on the next couple of pages.
Open the update folder that was sent to you (Binky 3.2) and you will see 3 subfolders. Open the USB Driver subfolder.
When you plug in the robot and Windows doesn’t have a driver loaded It will ask you for one. This is the driver you would
provide when prompted.
After Windows finds the robot as a device, go back out to the subfolders. Open the WebUpdate subfolder.
In that folder you will see 5 files. Double click the “load-WebUpdate-image” file. It will open a command window and
automatically run a batch file. The robot MUST have a fully charged battery before running the update and should NOT be on
a charge base!
This batch file will update the robot. The robot will cycle on and off and many other things while this is running. Do not
attempt to turn on or interfere with the process. If you do, there is a chance you will brick the robot firmware.
When you see this, the computer update is complete. However, the robot is NOT done updating and will continue to process
update for about 10 more seconds. When you hear robot startup tone and the LCD says NEATO ROBOTICS, the update is
complete and you can unplug the robot USB. DO NOT INTERFERE WITH ROBOT UNTIL YOU GET THIS VERIFICATION. You can
use the robot LCD panel to verify update was successful. From the main LCD screen you can go to MENUSupportShow
Revisions. You will see the firmware version. It should read SW 3.2.XXXXX and LDS V2.6.XXXXX .
