Design, Modelling and Structural Analysis of Helical Gear For Ceramic and Steel Material by Using ANSYS

The document discusses the design and analysis of a helical gear using CATIA and ANSYS software. Key points: - Helical gears have teeth cut at an angle to the face which provides smoother operation than spur gears. Contact starts at one side and spreads across as gears rotate. - Gear specifications like helix angle, circular pitch, pressure angle, number of teeth, etc. are defined. Geometric proportions relating these specifications are provided. - A helical gear model is generated in CATIA based on given specifications and imported into ANSYS for structural analysis.

Before creating helical gear we should know the

specifications of helical gear based on the data and
formulas we can design the helical gear.

IV. ANSYS
The ANSYS Workbench platform is the framework
upon which the industry’s broadest and deepest suite of
advanced engineering simulation technology is built. An
innovative project schematic view ties together the entire
simulation process, guiding the user through even
complex multi physics analyses with drag-and-drop
simplicity. With bi-directional CAD connectivity,
powerful highly-automated meshing, a project-level

After the preprocessing, the solution has to be done. From
