cube edge of the iron unit cell. [a = 0.286 nm]

3. Sodium at 20oC is BCC and has a lattice constant of 0.40788 nm. Calculate a value for the atomic
radius of a sodium atom in nanometers. [R = 0.176 nm]

4. Draw the following vectors in cubic unit cells:

(i ) [101]
(ii ) [3 1 2]
(iii ) [ 211]
(iv ) [ 1 1 1 ]
(v ) [ 2 12]
(vi ) [3 1 3]
(vii ) [301]
(viii ) [10 2 ]

5. Draw in unit cubes the crystal planes that have the following Miller indices:
(i )  2 1 1
(ii ) 10 1 

of 95.94 g/mol. Compute its theoretical density. [10.28 g/cm3]

8. Niobium has atomic radius of 0.1430 nm and a density of 8.57 g/cm3. Determine whether it has
an FCC or BCC crystal structure. [BCC]
