• Paragraph formatting is an essential part of
creating effective and professional-looking
documents in Word.
1. Formatting • When a document is formatted correctly and the
text is attractively spaced and positioned, the
paragraphs reader can focus on the content.
• Word’s paragraph formatting feature enables
you to set values for paragraph alignment,
indentation, and spacing between paragraphs.
• Word’s formatting features enable you to
remove paragraph formatting completely as
well.

• Word documents can include first-line indents,

• An indent is a blank space inserted between text and the left
or right margin.

• A first-line indent inserts blank space between the left
