Course Objectives

The objectives of this course are to:

1. Understand the strategic Importance of supply chain and its different  components, key drivers and main challenges
2. Learn how to shortlist and select potential suppliers and formulate sound contracts for ensuring smooth supplies 
3. Learn about inventory types and characteristics, costs and various models of inventory management
4. Know about the types of warehouses,  costs,  design, operations and best practices of warehousing
5. Understand packaging for material handling efficiency and  mechanized and automated systems for material handling
6. Formulating logistical strategy and freight consolidation and logistical integration
7. Identifying global supply chain opportunities and  international alliances & partnerships

3. Quizzes /Assignment                                                                                              = 10%
4. Project (given at the end of 8th module for completion in 2 months)            = 20 %
