HTML

• HyperText Markup Language (HTML) is a tool used


to build web pages.
• HTML isn’t a WYSIWYG word processor or desktop
publishing tool.
• HTML is used to define the content of a
document (what it says),

• But not the layout (how it looks).

• Tags: are HTML codes enclosed in angle


bracktes (< and >). These tags are used to
format the text. For example <BR> tag adds a
line breaks inside text.

• Empty or beginning container tags can contain


other HTML elements called attributes, which are
special codes that modify the tags.

beginning tag and ending tag.
