2. For D2O, the normal freezing point is 3.82 °C and ΔfusH is 6305 J/mol.

(a) Calculate the cryoscopic constant for D2O.

(b) Find the freezing point of a solution of 0.954 g of CH3COCH3 in 68.40 g of D2O.

[2 Marks]

3. Draw a labelled phase diagram for tin-lead (Sn-Pb) system and explain the curves. How do
you calculate the eutectic point?

[2 Marks]

4. The solute Na2SO4 is 92% dissociated in 1/200 molal aqueous solution at 27 °C. What
would be the osmotic pressure of the solution? [2 Marks]

5. With a phase diagram for three component system, explain the acetic acid-chloroform-
water system at 1 atm. [2 Marks]
