A. Getting Started

Welcome to another week of learning! How’s are you? I hope you’re all well and
safe! Are you ready for this week’s lesson? Let’s get started!

Eating is part of our daily routine. We eat food to increase our energy, to replenish
our strength, and to power our minds to think more clearly to handle problems. In
our country, it has been a tradition to prepare delicious food during celebrations
which happens several times in a year. During these times, most of us would pile
up our plate with every type of food we see, and will not realize until later that we
have already consumed a large amount of food. This shows that we usually don’t
mind the amount of food that we eat.

Processing Questions

1. What are your eating habits? Do you eat a lot or less? Why?
My eating habits are eating sweets, vegetables, and fruits. I eat a lot
because I really like to eat. I always spend my money just to buy the food I
want. Eating too much food requires my organs to work harder. But I will
avoid eating too much because I am getting fat.

2. How does food help you in doing your tasks in school?


Food helps fuel electrical impulses for learning, memory and other cognitive
tasks. Diets filled with energy drinks, fast food and sugar negatively affects
your mood, learning and memory, whereas diets filled with fruit, vegetables,
nuts and seeds can enhance my concentration and outlook. It gives me
energy and help my brain process actively. Good Nutrition helps students
show up at school prepared to learn. Because improvements in nutrition
make students healthier. Nutritious food helps me to develop lifelong
healthy eating habits. The food you put into your body can have a huge
impact on how your brain works. Food help me focus and finished my tasks
more. The nutrients in the foods you eat support the activities of day-to-day
living, protect your cells from environmental damage and repair any cellular
damage that might occur. Protein rebuilds injured tissue and promotes a
healthy immune system. Both carbohydrates and fats fuel your body, while
vitamins and minerals function throughout your body in support of your
body’s processes.

3. What do you mean by bad eating habit? Explain


Bad eating habits stands for eating not healthy food like junk foods and etc. that
can cause bad for our health, we have to eat foods that is full of vitamins like fruits
and vegetables and we can also drink milk every day to become more healthy.
Skipping breakfast is one of the most common bad. By skipping breakfast you slow
down your metabolism, reduce your energy, concentration and productivity. Bad
eating habit has negative impact on human health. Towards this, individuals should
put more attention on what they eat. Diseases are caused by a number of factors
and one of these factors is bad eating habit. Body metabolism, which is influenced
by what we eat, contributes to either healthy being or illness in the body. These
unhealthy eating habits can affect our nutrient intake, including energy protein,
carbohydrates, essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals as well as fiber and
fluid. Good health is the necessity of living a healthy life for every one of us which
needs to maintain a healthy diet and healthy habits throughout the life.

A. Exploring the Lesson

This lesson will help you understand the eating habit and weight control. Open
your OTG flash drive and find the folder titled “PEH 11 WEEK3”. Study the
PowerPoint Presentation and make a three-sentence summary of what have
you learned today.

I learned today is about food healthy habits and weight control. The food you
eat can affect your health and your risk for certain diseases. To eat healthier
food, you may need to change some of your daily habits. Keeping a healthy
weight is crucial. Maintaining a healthy weight is important for overall health
and can help you prevent and control many diseases and conditions. Healthy
eating has many other benefits. When we eat well, we sleep better, have
more energy and better concentration and this all adds up to healthier,
happier lives. We need to eat more fruits, low-fat dairy products like low-fat
milk and low-fat yogurt, vegetables, and whole-grain foods at home and at
work. Eating vegetables provides health benefits people who eat more
vegetables and fruits as part of an overall healthy diet are likely to have a
reduced risk of some chronic diseases. Vegetables provide nutrients vital for
health and maintenance of your body. One of the healthiest eating habits you
can foster in your family is to eat more vegetables. Focus on adding healthy
food to your diet, rather than just taking unhealthy foods away. Kids and
adult need to eat healthy food more than ever. Many studies have shown the
health benefits of eating breakfast. It improves your energy levels and ability
to concentrate in the short term, and can help with better weight
management. Breakfast provides many benefits to our health and wellbeing.
Getting enough water every day is important for your health. Drinking water
can prevent dehydration. Drinking water helps maintain the balance of body
fluids. Drink water instead of high-sugar drinks. Healthy eating means
consuming the right quantities of foods from all food groups in order to lead a
healthy lifestyle. A good diet is a nutritional lifestyle that promotes good
health. Being healthy should be part of your overall lifestyle. Healthy eating
habits and daily exercise are important for quality of life. Healthy eating can
transform your life and help you live a longer and more active one.

Answer the following questions.
1. How would you describe your eating habits?
I eat healthy food and keep the three meals daily. I keep to a good meal
schedule, but tend to eat a lot of snacks/junk food in the evening. I’ll drink
water instead of sugar sweetened drinks. We can stay fully hydrated
throughout the day by drinking water. I also always ate fruits and vegetable
because it is an important part of a healthy eating pattern and they are a
good source of vitamins and minerals, including folate, vitamin C and
potassium. They're an excellent source of dietary fibre, which can help to
maintain a healthy gut and prevent constipation and other digestion
problems. I’m eating a variety of food that gives me nutrients need to
maintain my health, feel good, and have energy. I need to healthy and
balanced diet is one of the most important things I can do to protect my
health.

2. What aspects of your lifestyle do you think you should be most attentive to? Why
do you think so?
The aspects of my lifestyle do I think I should be most attentive to eat healthy,
eating well is fundamental to good health and well-being. We know eating healthy
foods is vital to help us grow and develop and keep our bodies and minds strong.
Make good choices more often and limit the bad foods to small portions once in a
while. Being active also is important to a healthy lifestyle. It does not require
physical work and it is very essential to all people eating is what our health
depends on and eating healthy results good health and well-being. Healthy eating
helps us to maintain a healthy weight. And also, physical health will always be one
of the greatest obstacles that I have to face every day but at the same time, is the
one thing that I think I should be paying more attention to because my life is on the
line. Life has a lot of food choices to offer and that's one thing that I just can't easily
deny, and those food choices are unfortunately unhealthy yet extremely attractive.
But I need to avoid because I know it would be bad to my health. Physical health
should always be on our priority list because it is the source of how we feel and
how we respond to everyday life. That's why we should make sure that each
decision we make is for the greater good because decisions made from gut-
feelings and wants, ignoring the consequences in the near future, will only give you
a short-lived happiness. The key to a happy life is a healthy life.
