Statement of The Problem

Statement of the Problem

This study was undertaken to identify the perception employed by college student smokers on
the effect of the Sin Tax Bill on cigarette smoking. Specifically, it sought answers to the following
questions:

1. What is the socio-demographic profile of the respondents in terms of:


1.1 age;
1.2 sex;
1.3 civil status;
1.4 college year level;
1.5 religion;
1.6 family monthly income; and
1.7 number of sticks of cigarettes consumed per day?

2. What are the effects of cigarette smoking experienced by college student smokers as to:
2.1 physical;
2.2 financial;
2.3 social;
2.4 emotional;
2.5 mental; and
2.6 spiritual aspects?

3. What are the coping strategies employed by college student smokers on the effects of Sin Tax
Bill as to:
3.1 physical;
3.2 financially;
3.3 social;
3.4 emotional;
3.5 mental; and
3.6 spiritual aspects?
