There are several disadvantages of internet on student achievement, among others forget the time
to learn, addictive game play, youtube, social media, etc.

Internet Influence on Learning Achievement

 Internet is a network of computers connected together by using a system of global
standard transmission control protocol / internet protocol suite (TCP / IP) that is used as a packet
exchange protocol in serving billions of users located around the world. Internet is short of
interconnected networks. Internet can also be interpreted as an open global communications
networks and connecting millions or billions of computer networks with various types and kinds,
using a type of communication such as telephone, satellite, and so on.

The Internet is a computer network that was first established by the US Department of Defense in
1969, with a project called ARPANET ARPA. ARPA NET stands for Advanced Research Projects
Agency Network that demonstrates how a hadware and computer software have UNIX base with
communicating over long distances with the phone line. ARPANET project designed to standardize its
reliability and how the amount of information that can be send to exchange information from it formed
TCP / IP, known as Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol). The initial purpose of the
ARPANET project only military purposes to connect a vital area or region.
ARPANET in 1969 initially only be able to connect 4 sites such as the Stanford Research Institute,
University of Calirofornia, Santa Barbara, University of Utah. Then in October 1972 ARPANET was
introduced in general and is growing rapidly in all regions until the ARPANET difficulties. Of these
difficulties, the ARPANET was split into two, namely MILNET for military purposes and APRANET for
non-military purposes. Over time, the community known as DARPA and reduces to the Internet what it is
today.

Many uses of the Internet include: As a media file transfer File transfer in question is to

advantages and disadvantages, and internet. Not all the information available on the Internet to provide
information that is positive, but also negative information. There are several disadvantages of internet
on student achievement, among others forget the time to learn, addictive game play, youtube,
social media, etc. Learning achievements are the results achieved by someone after he made the change

The app is currently available internet has a lot and will continue to grow along with the times
and advances in information technology. Listed below are a variety of Internet applications.
 1.  World Wide Web (WWW). WWW is the Internet documents stored on servers located around the

 2.   E-mail. E-Mail or electronic mail is the Internet application for means of correspondence in
electronic form. The sites that provide e-mail services such as Yahoo !, Gmail, may mail and much more.
 3. Mailing List. Mailing list or mailing list is the internet application used as a means of discussion or
exchange of information within a group via e-mail.

4.  Newsgroups. Newsgroups are Internet applications that are used to communicate with each other in a
forum. Typically, members of forums and newsgroups have interests similar interests and discuss certain
topics.
 5. Internet Relay Chat. IRC is an Internet application used for chatting on the Internet. Chatted on the

6.  File Transfer Protocol. FTP is the Internet application used to send or retrieve files to or from another
computer. FTP is commonly used to download and upload files.

7. Telnet. Telnet is the internet application used to access the computer farther away. Telnet can be used if
we have the IP Address with the User ID and Password to the computer.

 8. Gopher. Gopher is an application used to search information in the internet. However, the information
obtained is only limited to text only.

9. Ping. Ping Packet Internet Gopher is used to determine whether the computers we use to connect with
other computers on the Internet.
factors that cause loss of internet on learning achievement:

- forget the time to learn

Makes students lazy, with the internet tend to be because it was easy to find anything on the
internet, this has resulted in the emergence of laziness among students to read the book. Which
ultimately assume timbulah feelings easily to a problem especially school problems. It also results in less
enthuses read a good book at the library, as well as in other places.

- Online addiction .

Clearly existed before the internet addiction. However, some of addiction is unique to the
internet. According to the Center for Internet Addiction Recovery website (ironic), studies have shown
that more and more people around the world have become addicted to online activities such as gaming,
gambling and browsing. In 2002, Elizabeth Wooley founded On-Line Gamers Anonymous (OLGA) in
memory of her son Shawn, who committed suicide while playing the online game EverQuest.

To conclude, the Internet is a new technology that bias connect various data and
information worldwide, which is where everyone is biased with free access. Internet in education
make a major contribution to the advancement of education, especially in Indonesia. With the
Internet it can increase the quality of the nation, particular students, with the internet then this
will have a positive influence on student achievement. This is caused by the presence of the
Internet, it can be easy for students either doing schoolwork or to find a variety of information
and knowledge that exist within the Internet. However, apart from the benefit, the internet also
has a negative impact on the next generation of open internet. If the Internet is used to improve
the performance, it will provide many benefits for students. However, when used for something
negative then it will have a negative impact also for students.
