    WORKSHEET IN ENGLISH 10
    Week 4

    Preparatory Activity

    Objective: Compare and contrast the contents of the materials viewed with outside
    sources of information in terms of accessibility and effectiveness.

    Directions: Watch the tourism promotional video of Sofronio Española (link provided in
    your group chat). Make a graphic organizer for the information you have taken or
    learned from the video clip.

    Read in Depth

    MOTION PICTURE- It is defined as series of pictures projected in rapid succession on


    screen. It is all the material we can view or watch like movies and others. It has three
    genres: 1. Movie Clip 2. Trailer 3. News Flash

    1. Movie Clip - picture film, especially an excerpt from a longer film or one
    inserted as part of another presentation, as of a telecast or full-length motion
    picture.
    2. Trailer – (also known as a preview or coming attraction) is a commercial
    advertisement for a feature film that will be exhibited in the future at a cinema,
    the result of creative and technical work.
    3. News Flash- It is a very short program on radio or television broadcast
    suddenly in the middle of another program when something very important
    has happened.

    Movies and Television Programs have the following genres:

    1. Animated – These are the cartoons we see on TV. Their themes vary as well as
    the target age group (some are for toddlers and kids, while some are for
    teenagers.)
    2. Children – These shows are for children and are almost always educational.
    They can be animated or not.
    3. Comedy – These shows are meant to entertain viewers, through the use of jokes
    and pranks.
    4. Drama – These shows are highly emotional, and the story always has sad parts,
    like broken families, betrayals, etc. however, not all endings are sad. Usually, the
    protagonist prevails in the end.
    5. Educational – These shows are highly informational and can be intended for
    children, teenagers, or adult. A lot of these shows are in documentary format,
    which each episode focusing on a certain person or theme. Some use
    demonstrations, as in shows that teach people how to make art.
    6. Fantasy – These shows are unrealistic characters and plots, usually including
    magic and supernatural creatures. They can be animated or not, with a lot of
    visual effects.
    7. Horror – These shows are intended to scare audiences, usually employing
    supernatural beings like kapre, manananggal, and aswang.
    8. News – These shows are used to inform the public about the latest updates in
    the world, country, and community.
    9. Variety Show – These shows include games, song-and-dance performances,
    and other segments

    Main Output

    Directions: Compare the information taken from the video clip with information from the
    news article (to be given by the teacher) or other sources you can find or locate. Focus
    your comparison on the effectiveness and accessibility of the sources used. Make a
    Venn Diagram.
