Tr: today we will learn about habitats changes. (what can cause habitats to
change?)
Tr: first, we have to know that, there are 3 main reasons why habitats change
which are, nature, animals, and people.
Tr: the first reason which is nature, is including drought, flood, and fire.

Drought: when it doesn’t rain for a long time, the habitats become dry
Flood: when it rains very heavily, the ground is covered with water.
Fire: like forest fires.

The second reason is animals when beavers build their home.

Beaver Dam in a stream in the forest.
Tr will show the Ss the stream in the forest, beaver cutting trees, and Pond and
a Dam.

The third reason is, people, like people cutting down trees.

Tr: what happens to animals when their habitat changes?

Some animals can adapt, which means: change the place they live or change
the way they live.

Other animals can’t adapt so they die and become endangered.

Tr: here we have a picture of a fossil, which means what is left of a living
thing from the past.

Some plants and animals that lived long ago still live today. Some have died
out, or become extinct like dinosaurs.
