C-Reactive Protein (CRP) Test Name Observed Values Units Biological Reference Intervals

Mr. D. Sudhakar, a 72-year-old male, had a C-reactive protein (CRP) test done on November 7, 2020. The CRP level was measured using an immunoturbidometric method and was found to be 2.75 mg/L, which is within the normal biological reference interval of less than 5.0 mg/L. CRP is a serum protein synthesized in the liver and elevated levels indicate active tissue damage. Its measurement helps in diagnosis and management of conditions like neonatal sepsis and meningitis.

C-REACTIVE PROTEIN (CRP)
Test Name Observed Values Units Biological Reference Intervals
C-REACTIVE PROTEIN 2.75 mg/L < 5.0
Method:IMMUNOTURBIDOMETRIC

Method : IMMUNOTURBIDOMETRIC
Interpretation:
1) It is serum protein which is synthesized in liver.
2) Elevated serum concentration of CRP is an unequivocal of active tissue damage process.
3) Its measurements helps in differential diagnosis, in the management of neonatal
septicemia and meningitis.
4) CRP level is variably rise after major surgery but fall to normal with in 7 - 10 days.
