?Quantitative Applications in the Social Sciences?

The Sage's Quantitative Applications in the Social Sciences series (edited by

Michael S. Lewis-Beck, University of Iowa) of concise and accessible papers
on methodology in the social sciences is a pub?shing phenomenon, with close
to 100 titles currently in print and world-wide sales of more than 1.000.000
copies. This series provides professionals and students with inexpensive texts
describing the major statistical methods used in applied social research. These
authoritative, easy-to-use volumes: provide focused summaries of the indivi
dual methods most used by applied researchers; are handy tools for a quick
'brush-up' on specific topics; contain useful glossaries, appendices, bibliogra
phic references; offer an authoritative introduction to the major techniques in
the applied social researcher's 'tool kit' and can be used independently, as a
supplement, or in tandom with other volumes in the series. Each volume is
prefaced with an introduction by the editor, Michael S. Lewis-Beck. We put the
