UNIT 0: Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Outcomes

LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of the unit, students must have:
1. Identified, described and explained the vision, mission and core values of
the university and the institutional, campus degree and course outcomes.

The University’s Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Outcomes

Vision: WVSU as the center for educational excellence in the Visayas and the hub for
Human Resource Development in the Asia-Pacific region.

Mission: WVSU is committed to provide holistic education geared towards sustainable


growth and development.

Core Values: Scholarship Harmony Innovation Nurturance Excellence Service

Institutional Outcomes for Instruction:


 is a creative and critical thinker;

Graduates of BS Criminology program equipped with relevant knowledge, skills,
attitude and values shall be able to:
1. Conduct criminological research on crimes, crime causation, victims, and offenders to
include relevant behaviour;
2. Internalize the concepts of human rights and victim welfare;
3. Demonstrate competence and broad understanding in law enforcement
administration, public, safety and criminal justice;
4. Utilize criminalistics or forensic science in the investigation and detection of crime;
5. Apply the principles and jurisprudence of criminal law, evidence and criminal
procedure; and
6. Ensure offenders’ welfare and development of their re-integration to the community

The Course Outcomes


Course Outcomes:
At the end of the semester, the students must have:
1. discussed and appreciated the nature of mathematics, what it is now, how it is
expressed, represented and used.
2. applied different types of reasoning to justify statements, arguments and solved
problems made about by mathematics and mathematical concepts.
3. discussed the language and symbols of mathematics.
4. used a variety of statistical tools to process and manage numerical data.
5. used mathematics in other areas such as finance and business, codes and coding
schemes, networks, voting, health and medicine, environment, arts and design, and
recreation.
6. appreciate the nature of mathematics and affirmed honesty and integrity in its
application to various human endeavors.
