1. What is the essence of being a Catholic?
Being a Catholic takes a lot of responsibilities. It’s not about doing and saying it for the sake that we
are told and commanded to do that from childhood up to now. Being a Catholic is recognizing God and
making him part of our lives through belief and faith. It is having a relationship with him to strengthen
our faith as well as being committed with him that will lead us to fulfillment of life. As a Catholic we
establish our relationship with God by getting closer and getting to know him more. Nothing bad will
happen to us if we surrender and let God provide everything. We just need to do our part as a Catholic
and as a person by sharing and continuing the will and words of God for us. And that is the foundation
and holdings of the Catholics. With that we are being united as one and we believe the same thing.
Being Catholic is not picking and choosing which doctrines we want to believe, which doctrines “make sense to
us,” or which doctrines “make us feel good about ourselves.” It is something that we should take seriously and
wholeheartedly. And there’s a lot of ways to show how passionate and dedicated we are to be in this position, like
praying everyday, helping others, attending an assembly and continuously worshiping to God. The Church found unity
through Catholic using the 3 different levels of creed, code, and cult. That would be taught the moral teaching, the faith
and the worship which is very important to us as a Christian.
The essence of Catholicism is the fullness of truth. This will never teach us and provoke us to do bad things that
can harm many people.We wouldn't be the person that we are today without our Catholic faith. We are in this Christian
institution to be enlightened with the truth and most importantly having faith in our creator and savior, Jesus Christ who
was conceived by the holy spirit.
Our God’s home, the Church, and the Catholic could also be the reason for us to mold ourselves
into a better individual who follows and obey all the things that makes our God truly glad. Inside the
home of our God, all the good news is spreading all throughout as we listen to the words of God that
leads us to become a holy child ready and deserving for the promised land.
2. Give at least 3 ways for each mission of the Church on how the faithful share in
the following roles:
Prophetic:
1. As a member of the church of Christ, we are all responsible to spread the words of God. This may
be a simple thing but this leads to the gladness of our God. Our dearest prophets, one of the best
examples, are doing their responsibility as God’s greatest followers. Spreading all the deeds of our
goodness gracious Father in heaven. We may not physically see Him but we have faith that He’s
watching from afar, seeing every action we commit.
2. Prophets are the chosen one to impart the words and continue the will of God. Those lessons that
they imparted on us have a great influence to be a better human being and as a follower of Christ. One
good example of being knowledgeable by the words of God is by serving the other people and letting
them know something about God, specifically the people who are suffering in hardship. Prophets as a
messenger and us that we know something must share to others as well to keep their faith stronger and
having good relationships with God.
3. As a person believing in God is like a prophet who continuously gives knowledge about God.
They are accomplishing the mission of Christ. They are the one who have been chosen to speak for God
and give divine inspiration to the people through words, not seek to proclaim but to speak to the words
of God for truth.
Priestly:
1. This is the way through our relationship with Christ, where we worship and pray to be as one and
to be in a good place where no one was left behind as the Priestley role to teach the people and
experience the holiness.
2. As what Jesus Christ wants to establish a Priestly community to gather the people and learn
something that could apply in their daily lives and to be on the right path. Jesus sacrifices his own life
for our salvation and communion with that we should continue paying back to Him by building an
organization that will remember his sacrifices.
3. In a Priestly way in which the priest who performs religious rites, especially to make sacrificial
offerings and a minister of any religion. Priest is one of which spreading the words of God to people as
well as the one who educate us to be a good person who deserved all the sacrifices done by our savior
Jesus Christ. Priest was living the sacrifices of God to be determined.
Kingly:
1. Jesus not literally a king but entitled himself as a servant which like the Pope who continues
serving because of Christ. The church gives respect with the Pope. Popes are the one of the greatest
followers of God. A heart filled with all the kindness, holiness and love as they do what God wants us to
do. To stay away with all the sinful things spreading in our world nowadays.
2. As what Jesus Christ showed his kingship through serving the people that creates a kingdom
living in peace and harmony in having a leader who did not treat the people as a no one but truly
insisting to be with him and having a good relationship.
3. We should be like him, a God who can be a leader, savior and a king who chooses to serve other
people. We should be thankful for having him that is why we need to continue serving now to him by
worshiping. Grant him the return of being united because of him.
