Dear Madame;

Greetings in the Good Name of the Lord!

We, 3rd year students of BA/BS in Psychology at the University of Perpetual Help System-
Laguna, enrolled in a course Psychological Assessment 2 and as part of our requirement, have
constructed a psychological test we entitled DEI’S Scale of Self-Confidence for Female
Teens with Acne with the following objectives: (1) measure the level of self-confidence of female
teens with acne; (2) determine the coping mechanism of female teens with acne in socializing; and
(3) to know the view of female teens on their self beyond the layer of their skin and determine the
effect of having acne in the self-confidence of female teens.
With your expertise, we are humbly asking your permission to validate the attached questionnaire
using the attached rating tool.

We are looking forward that our request would merit your positive response.

Thank you very much.

Respectfully Yours,

De Guia, Czyvel Kryz L. Episcope, Neil Jane M.

Comments and Suggestions:

Most of the questions are good and accurate and could measure what the developers
intend to measure. There is some consistency in the items as well. However, there are
some items that made me confused which factor is being focused on. There are some
revisions needed, but overall, this is an interesting instrument. Good luck!

Comments and Suggestions:

Your objectives are to measure the level of self-confidence, determine the coping mechanism
and the view of female teen on their self. Based on your indicators, it did not measure these
three objectives. You have society, family, social, emotional, behavioral, and physical as
indicators, but they do not measure the level of self-confidence, coping mechanism and view
of female teen on their self. Your indicators should be the level of confidence, types of coping
mechanism and different views on self.

Comments and Suggestions:

It is in the objectives that it is a scale to measure self-confidence but the subtitle in the
table is self-acceptance. It is a bit confusing. It would be better that self-confidence is
defined well and just stick with self-confidence.
For the emotional section, kindly balance that positive items (the positive feelings
towards self) and the negative items (the negative feelings towards self). I noticed that
there are more negative feelings than positive ones. Be more direct with your statements
for each item and phrase it well.
Likewise, I notice some items that does not fit in the category. In categorizing, if it is
emotional, then all items under it should be related to emotions. If the items are under
behavioral, then it should be stated with actions, not a response to feelings but rather as
behavior towards the acne. Try to imagine the actions of a person confident even s/he
has acne and the person who is not.
