Software images:
Please note that there are two binary files. Use the correct one for the type of Access Point. The bin filenames
are:
• XR320-8.4.5-228.bin – this is the binary file for the XR-320
• X2120-8.4.5-228.bin – this is the binary file for the X2-120
Supported Hardware
• All XR-320 and X2-120 Access Points.
Upgrade Recommendations
• It is recommended that you upgrade the firmware via XMS-Cloud or XMS-Enterprise. If you use XMS-Cloud,
your Access Points will be upgraded automatically.
• As an alternative, and only if you don’t use XMS-Cloud, you can manually update the Firmware via SSH CLI,
see Appendix [A] for details.
New Features and Enhancements in AOS Lite 8.4.5-228
• Bug fixes.
Issues Resolved (From 8.4.4-216 to 8.4.5-228)
AOSL-9, ZT-19533 – This fix from 8.4.4-216 has been reversed: “Xirrus APs in the network
were being erroneously reported as rogues. This will no longer occur.”
Monitor
This has been fixed in XMS-Cloud instead – customer’s own APs will not be shown as rogues.
The RSSI value has also been corrected.
Radius AOSL-11, ZT-19702 - Added Framed-IP-Address to the accounting-request START packet.
Note that there will be a delay before you see Framed-IP-Address in this packet on roaming.
AOSL-10, ZT-19724 - Corrected behavior of track-apps: when using time-frame option, if the
Track-apps GUID of one inactive internal app has other active internal apps, the total counter is still
reported to user.
AOSL-7, ZT-19788 – [XR-320 LAN 1, 2, 3, & 4 Ethernet interfaces stop working.] Fixed by
XR-320 LAN adding a recovery mechanism to check downlink port status every 3 minutes. If downlink ports
Ports are abnormal, the reset of internal Switch-IC will be triggered. Moreover, we added a syslog
“Reset s17 switch IC” when reset happens, and added reset counter to diagnostic log.

Known Issues in 8.4.5-228
Element Description of Issue
Heavy Load 18701 - AOS Lite Access Points report offline when the CPU is under heavy load.
18945 - Gig port DHCP stops sending Discover Packets when no response from DHCP
DHCP
Server.
X2-120 DNS 19054 - X2-120s intermittently not able to resolve DNS.
19096 - Need to implement airtime fairness to avoid stations losing connectivity when other
XR-320 WLAN
stations are using up more bandwidth
SSID Traffic 19168 – If a station connects to an SSID with a Traffic Limit, it keeps that limit after switching
Limit to another SSID with a different limit.
Limitations and Conditions of 8.4.5-228
Element Description of Issue
5 GHz WLAN <Per-SSID QoS>, <802.1p Mapping> and <Packet Filter Classification> do not work on 5GHz
radios.
Device Policy Supports a maximum of 8 device-classes.
Wireless stations associated with the same SSID of 5GHz radio can access each other even if
SSID different VLAN IDs are dynamically assigned to them. You may use the Station-to-Station
Blocking function as a workaround.
STP The STP function has been disabled and removed from the X2-120 and the XR-320.
DHCP AOSL devices might not obtain an IP address from DHCP after power up if the DHCP server is
not up yet. Please reboot devices or bring up DHCP server in advance;
