1 Overview
Single site verification (SSV) is a very important part of network optimization. The purpose
is to ensure that the signal coverage and basic functions (such as access, handover,
uplink and downlink traffic, etc.) of each cell of each site in the to-be-optimized area are
normal before the network cluster optimization.
The 5G NR SSV can be divided into two categories by the networking mode: one for the
NSA networking mode and one for the SA networking mode. The SSV work scope and
SSV method are different in the two networking modes. This document is intended to
describe their characteristics in detail.

2 NSA SSV
Currently, the NR NSA networking mode is Option 3X. This networking mode is anchored
on FDD LTE, the control plane is borne on FDD LTE, and the user plane is borne on FDD
LTE and 5G NR jointly.

SSV is mainly performed through on-site survey, DT and CQT tests, and the work scope
mainly includes the following contents:
Check whether the engineering parameters such as the latitude and longitude of the
base station and the azimuth and downtilt of each antenna are consistent with the
planning data, and whether there is any tall building that is in the main coverage
direction and blocks signals. For an NSA base station, the 5G antenna azimuths,
mechanical downtilts, and electronic downtilts must be the same with those of the
corresponding 4G antennas.
Check whether the radio parameters such as the frequency, LAC, TAC, CID, PCI,
prach, and transmit power of the each cell are consistent with the planning data.

At a fixed point (good point), test the 4G and 5G NR equipment accessibility with the
4G CPE and 5G CPE in a dual-connection mode, upload and download files, and do
the PING test, so as to verify whether the test results meet the criteria or not.
Perform an intra-site coverage test to verify whether the coverage of the three sectors
under the site is reasonable, whether any antenna is cross-connected, whether any
cell severely overshoots signals, and whether the handover function is normal.
For the problems discovered in the SSV, record them in the SSV Report, including
brief fault analysis, solutions, and re-verification records.
