Background

The perfect location

‘Ranger Hills is the perfect location’, says company CEO
We know that Ranger Hills is a great location for new businesses coming to this
area. There are views of the mountains from your office. You’re next to two major
*interstates and only 35 minutes from two international airports. Visitors to your
company can enjoy great food at the local restaurants and stay at a local five-star
hotel with a luxury spa. And at lunch you can play golf or walk through the woods.
But don’t ask us! Ask Ryan Bowler, CEO and founder of the company the Bowler
Corporation. He loved Ranger Hills so much he moved the whole company here. We
interviewed him about working in one of Canada’s most beautiful regions.

Q: What services or products does the Bowler Corporation provide?

A: We supply to customers all over northern America, from Canada up to Alaska and
down to Mexico. We’re a well-known supplier of machine parts to the oil industry so
most *oil platforms use our equipment.
Q: How many employees do you have?
A: About 300 full time here at the Ranger Hills factory and assembly plant. And there
are also teams working with the clients on site.
Q: Do people think it’s a strange location for a factory? This area is so quiet and
beautiful.
A: Well our production process is environmentally-friendly and we’re interested in
looking after the future of the planet.
Q: Is that the reason you chose Ranger Hills?
A: Yes, in part. In fact, there are a number of reasons. My father started the company
in an old warehouse in Vancouver. We became bigger and bigger and we had to
relocate. We needed a place to grow, but we also needed good communications and
transportation. The people in this area were very friendly and welcomed us. That made
a big difference.
Q: Were they worried about a big business coming here?
A: Not really and we provided lots of jobs in the area. Ranger Hills is the perfect location
for our business, but it’s also a great location for the people who work here – that’s
important for any business.
