COMPARATIVE
There are three different types of comparative structures in English: INFERIORITY,
EQUALITY
AND SUPERIORITY
Structure: [less + than] ///// [not as.......as]

NOTE: "Less" is usually used fot uncountables and "fewer"
for countables.

This type of comparative has two different
structures depending on the length of the
adjective:

Pretty - Prettier (The "y" is substituted by "i", and after
that we add "-er".
Large - Larger (We add just one "r" because the
SPECIAL SPELLING adjective finishes in "-e".
Big - Bigger (If an adjective finishes
in consonat+vowel+consonant, the last consonant is
doubled and "-er" is added).

In English, the superlative also has two different structures depending on the adjective
length
Structure: [the + -est]
SHORT ADJECTIVES
Example: He is the tallest boy in the classroom
Structure: [ the most + adjective]
LONG ADJECTIVES
Example: He is the most intelligent boy in the classroom
Good - The best
IRREGULAR ADJECTIVES
Bad - The worst
IN SUPERLATIVE
Far - The furthest

2. My parents are stubborn (stubborn) than I thought.
3. My house is the largest one in our neighborhood. (large)

4. The best (good) part of practicing sports is stretching afterwards.


5. Going out for dinner is more expensive (expensive) than it was a few years ago.
6. The seaside is always most peaceful (peaceful) during the winter.
7. Take this towel, it’s a little bit dry (dry).
8. She has always been braver (brave) than her brother.
9. He looks a lot thinner (thin) than when he started studying.
