This document discusses observations of the Pillars of Learning at a school and compares teaching and learning landscapes before and in the 21st century. It notes specific practices observed for each Pillar of Learning, such as trainings and class discussions helping students focus on their track. A comparison shows learning was once confined to the classroom but is now lifelong and occurs anywhere, and teachers have transitioned from information providers to being tech-savvy and facilitating interactive, hands-on learning centered around creation and application. A reflection concludes that as a future 21st century teacher, one must prepare for rapid changes by gaining lifelong knowledge, skills, and values to adapt practices important for teaching and learning successfully in a quickly evolving world
