Abstract RTE and Gender Equality

This paper aims to study gender equality in education and the right to free and compulsory education in India. It highlights that gender inequality remains an ongoing concern, particularly for illiterate women and girls who have been neglected by the formal education system. The paper also examines how societal expectations and norms perpetuated by laws and policies can hamper women's development and equal access to education, employment, and other benefits. Finally, the paper analyzes awareness of the Right to Education Act among males and females in urban and rural areas of India in order to identify gaps and strengthen policies promoting gender equality in education.

Right to Education and Gender Equality
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research paper it to is to raise concerns and issues that arises from inequality
status of man and a woman including the difference in roles, characteristic and expectation that is
attributed by society to both. This paper studies the how gender equality in education has
remained a matter of concern and to bridge this gap, it is very important to focus on illiterate
women and girls who have been neglected by the formal school system. Evidence from everyday
experiences around the world will depict gender inequality as a significant, and alarming, issue at
hand. The society expectations and the perceptions which are reflected in and also perpetual by
laws, policies, procedure, system etc. including the activities of government could hamper
women full development and their participation in and equal enjoyment of the fruits of
development. This could also create gaps between man and women in terms of how they benefit
from education, employment, services, and so on.

This paper also aims to study about the Right to free and compulsory education. Education in the
India is the major and current issue and act lays down the specific responsibility for the center
state and legislative and the result indicated that in males and females, whether they are resident
of urban or rural area there the awareness about the Right to Education is low.

It is important for this study to know the policies and law that pave away the gender gaps. Also,
especially for the women, to be enlightened the laws and policies that establish their right to gain
gender control over the circumstances of their lives.
