Parker-Hannifin Spindleblok Troubleshooting Guide: Philips P/N Parker P/N Motor HP Stator Application Parker Firmware

The document provides a troubleshooting guide for a Parker-Hannifin Spindleblok used in Philips medical scanners. It lists the Parker and Philips part numbers for different motor horsepower and applications. It then describes three tests to run before replacing the Spindleblok: 1) measuring the resistance of the dynamic brake resistor, 2) measuring the resistance of the reliance drive motor windings, and 3) measuring the voltage on the 240VAC input lines.

NOTE TO PHILIPS FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER:

The following tests should always be run prior to replacing the Spindleblok. Ensure that all electrical connections to the
Spindleblok are in place and secure prior to running these tests:

1) Dynamic brake resistor check – With AC input power removed from the scanner and a DVM set to “OHMS”, measure
between terminals “DB” and “+B” directly on the Spindleblok. You should read 36 ± 2 ohms. Next, measure form “DB” to
chassis ground and “+B” to chassis ground. You should have an open circuit.

2) Reliance drive motor check – With AC input power removed from the scanner and a DVM set to “OHMS” (lowest
scale), make three measurements between T1 & T2, T2 & T3 and T1 & T3. For all systems except Accolade/Big Bore,
the reading should be 2.3 ohms ± 0.3 ohms. For Accolade/Big Bore systems only, this reading should be 1.9 ohms ± 0.3
ohms. Next, make three separate measurements between T1, T2 and T3 to chassis ground. This should be an open
circuit. For all readings, be sure to take into consideration the resistance of your meter leads!

3) 240 VAC
line check 3) 240VAC input line check – With power applied to the scanner and the ESTOP loop closed (contactor MDK
closed) and a DVM set to “VAC”, measure between L1 & L2, L2 & L3 and L1 & L3. The reading should be
240 ± 15 VAC.
