MS Word Exercise

1. Locate Microsoft Word and open a new document.

2. Type the following text:

"Nancy was pretty in a distinctive way. Her eyes were blue, her hair golden. She
spoke forcefully but never thought of thrusting her opinions upon others. In any
crowd she unconsciously assumed leadership."

"Few persons guessed that George and Bess were cousins, so unlike were they in
appearance and disposition. Bess was pretty and lady-like and sedate. She took pride
in her person and gave particular care to her luxurious hair. George had cropped her
straight dark hair as short as the style would permit, and combed and brushed it as
infrequently as possible."

An early description of Ned, Nancy's boyfriend: "The youth was not more than
eighteen or nineteen, Nancy decided, surveying him critically. His hair was dark and
slightly curly, his eyes whimsical and friendly. The black and gold sweater which he
wore suggested that he might be a college student, perhaps a member of the football
team."
