1. A shopkeeper allows 20 % of marked price of goods and still gets a profit of 25%. What
is actual cost to him of an article marked as Rs.500?

2. A tradesman marks his goods at such rice that after allowing a discount of 15%, he
makes a profit of 20%. What is marked price of an article whose price is Rs.170?

3. By selling a pair of earnings at a discount of 25% on marked price, a jeweler makes a


profit of 16%. If price is Rs.48, What is the cost price? What is the marked price and the
price at which the pair was eventually bought?

4. If selling price of 18 oranges is equal to cost price of 16 oranges, Find gain or loss
percentage?

5. By selling a book for Rs.500, a book seller gain 20%. Find how much should he sell to
gain 30% ?

6. A dealer bought two tables for Rs.3120. He sold one of them at a loss of 15% and the
other at a gain of 36 %. Then he found that each table was sold for the same price? Find
the cost price of each table?

7. The difference between selling price of a shirt at a profit of 40% and 50% is Rs.60.Find

the marked price, he still makes a profit of 50%. Find the rate of CP to MP?

14. A boy buys 9 apples for Rs.100 and sells them at 11 for Rs. 125. Find his gain or loss
percentage?
