1.0 TITLE: CAD/CAM & CNC MILLING
2.0 OBJECTIVE
3.0 INTRODUCTION
Milling is a process of removing anything from a workpiece such as metal or wood. Its
consist of few main parts such as the milling machine itself, a cutter, fixture and workpiece.
For this report, the CNC simulation has been taught using CAD/CAM Catia. Its involved on
3D coding that will be apply to produce workpiece.
4.0 APPARATUS
6. The CNC Code were apply into the CNC Milling Machine.
Precaution that should be considered during running this experiment is we must ensure
that we are wearing safety equipment such as safety glasses. This is to avoid metal chips that
came from the workpiece get into our eyes. Next, we must ensure that the door of the milling
machine is closed tightly before operating the machine, this is to avoid any dangerous
incident that might occur during the operation such as getting stuck at the moving parts.
6.0 CONCLUSION
Oobjective of experiment had been achieved. We can create CNC Code using CAD/CAM
Catia and apply CNC program into CNC milling machine. We learn the function of NC code
such as G-codes and M-codes. We also learn how to make simulation using CAD/CAM Catia
and analyze the process into NC code. Lastly, we learn how to put NC code into the CNC
milling machine and operating the machine. These is NC coding :
7.0 RECOMMENDATION
The machine tool can be overheating, the channels must be clean regularly to be free from
dirt, soil and material. This can be done by having a calendar of cleaning up metals shaving
and the liquids used in cutting. Next is the machine should have a proper system that can
eliminate any metals chip from the workpiece by itself. This can increase the effectivity of
the experiment in terms of times and workforce.
