GRAMMAR I (TSL041)

GROUP ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINES

 Form a group of three.


 Each group will be given one authentic text between 1 to 2 pages long.
 Find ALL common nouns, determiners and pronouns & list them down in your written
report according to the provided format of tables. All items must be in their sequence.
(Font: Arial, Size: 11, Spacing: 1.5)
 Indicate the total number of items found for each part.
 Your video presentation must be within 5-7 minutes only. All of the group members must
participate & appear in the video.
 In the video, explain only five (5) items from each part on how the items are used in the
context of the text:
o Nouns: 2 countable (singular & plural) & 3 uncountable
o Determiners: Any 5 of the 7 types
o Pronouns: Any 5 of the 10 types
 It is advised that each member takes 1 of the 3 parts (Nouns/Determiners/Pronouns)
and present individually in your group video.
 Submit your video in a form of DVD, thumb drive or any other platform that your lecturer
would like you to use in .mp4 or .mov format. However, do not upload your video on
YouTube or any public website.
 Your written report (hardcopy only) must be submitted on the same day.
 Deadline: October 5th, 2018
 Your marks will be assessed based on the following:
o Written report:
 Accuracy of analysis: 5% (from the actual raw total of items)
(Spelling and capitalization mistakes will be deducted accordingly)
o Video presentation:
 Clarity: 2.5%
 Language: 2.5%
o TOTAL: 10%
