This chapter provides a conclusion of the research and suggestions for further study. The conclusion is that the use of partial immersion programs through opinion texts was effective in improving the language proficiency of students at Universitas of Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Muhammadiyah. This is proved by test scores that increased from a mean of 51.80 on the pre-test to 55.00 on the post-test. Suggestions include that lecturers should make classroom techniques like immersion programs to easily improve students' English, students should study English hard, and future researchers should find unique ways to improve language proficiency.

CHAPTER V

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

This chapter consist of two parts, that is the conclusion of the research and

the suggestion is made for further study.

A. Conclusion

Considering the findings and discussion in chapter iv, the researcher

would like conclude that the second semester of Universitas of Muhammadiyah

Sidenreng Muhammadiyah have improve in language proficiency (opinion text)

through using immersion program. It was proved by the mean score of post-test

was higher (55.00) than the mean score of pre-test (51.80). It proved that the use

of immersion program through opinion text effective in improving college

students language proficiency.

So based on the result of mean score and t-test, the researcher concluded

that partial immersion program can improving the college students language

proficiency. It can motivate the college students to learn English language

proficiency (speaking).

B. Suggestion

To improve the college students achievement in language proficiency by

immersion program, the researcher puts forward some suggestions as follow :

1. The lecturer, should make technique or strategies in classroom can make the

college students is easy one of which is by immersion program.

2. The college student, expected to study hard in english language.

3. The other researcher, expected to have some unique techniques and improve

language proficiency.

4. Become successful in teaching english, but also to apply appropriate

methods and technique of teaching.
