OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, the learner is able to evaluate functions and
solve problems involving functions.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing Review:
previous lesson or Degree of functions- l
presenting the Linear function- the degree is 1
new lesson Quadratic function- degree is 2
Cubic function- degree is 3
B. Establishing a
purpose for the Evaluating functions means replacing the variable in the functions, in the
lesson case x, with a value from the functions’ domain and computing the result.
C. Presenting Examples:
examples/
instances of the Evaluate the following functions:
new lesson a. f(x)= 2x+4 when x= 5
a. f(x) = 3x when x= 3
b. f(x) = 2x3+ x2+4 when x= 2
c. f(x) = 5x2- 2 when x= 5
G. Finding practical
applications of
concepts and skills
in daily living
H. Making
generalizations and
abstractions about
the lesson
I. Evaluating Learning Evaluate the following functions:
1. f(x) = 3x2+7x x=4
2.f(x) = 7x-5 x= 6
3.f(x) = -5x+4x2 x= -2
4.f(x)= 9x+3 x= -10
J. Additional activities
for application or
remediation
V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION Requires teachers to reflect on and assess their effectiveness
A. No. of learners who
earned 80% in the
evaluation
B. No. of learners who
require additional
activities for
remediation
C. Did the remedial
lessons work? No. of
learners who have
caught up with the
lesson
D. No. of learners who
continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my
teaching strategies
worked well? Why
did these works?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which my
principal or supervisor can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized materials did I
use/discover which I wish to share with other
teachers?
