01. Check the orientation and lay out of the tubes.
02. Check whether the elements are located correctly with
reference to the header.
03. Check the design pressure and metal temp. are given as
follows.
Max. Metal Temp. = Max. Water Temp. + 11°C.
04. Check the heating surface area with calculations.
05. Check whether all the relevant general notes, erection
notes, material specification & design data are given
correctly.
06. Check the effective heating surface and ensure the coils
are uniformly pitched.
07. Check whether any provision is to be made for future
addition and provide the same.
08. Ensure correct tube size and material is used for FFS.
09. Ensure sufficient space is available for locating access
door.
10. Check the stub connection, length with header drawing.
11. Check the following terminology are correctly followed.
a. LUGS : Shaped plates which require fabrication,
machining, drilling in small piece of plate.
b. PLATES : Other large plates like sealing plate,
Economiser
support plate, guide plates etc.,
c. SPACERS : Plate between the coils to maintain
longitudinal
Pitch
12. Check whether all the dimension are available from any
reference point.
13. Check and ensure that all the weld symbols along with the
details are given correctly.

material.
17. Ensure that uniform clearance is available between
elements & casing. Ensure pitching of coil is inline with
roof opening.
18. Check whether all the tubes, tube supports are identified by
mark nos. and included in the material list along with size
(OD & thk.), quantity and material specification.
19. Check the drawing no. is as per drawing list.
20. Check and ensure element support lugs (along the gas
path) are provided in adequate quantity and in correct
position.
21. Check whether element supports at penetration local to
roof tube is given correctly.
22. Check whether element guide plate along with the lugs
(across the gas path) is provided covering all the coils at
suitable location. Ensure that the material selected is of
higher grade than the coil.

23. Check whether lugs for longitudinal spacing is provided and

ensure that the material selected is of higher grade than
the coil.
24. Ensure the tube bending radius given satisfies fabrication
facility.
25. Ensure the total tube length excludes the stub length in the
header & includes erection allowance, if any and 3%
fabrication allowance.
26. Check whether all the fastener requirement are given.
27. Check whether the loose supply materials are identified in
the material list.
