Projects__________________________________________________________
1. Title: The Variational Iteration Method for Finding Exact Solution of Nonlinear Equations.
Description: Analytical methods commonly used to solve nonlinear equations are very restricted and
numerical techniques involving discretization of the variables on the other hand give rise to rounding
off errors also they need large computer power and memory. So, we are working with the above stated
method which is a new method and also does not require a large computer memory. Also, we are using
the modified Variational Iteration Method for rapid convergence of the solution. Here we used
MATLAB for the iteration process.
Starting date: January’19

2. Title: Behaviour of flow of a fluid through a porous microchannel under the combined
action of pressure gradient and electric field.
Description: In most of the cases the flow physics of non-Newtonian fluid in a microchannel is
described by power law model or PTT model. Here we are using Casson fluid model to describe the
flow through microchannel.
Here we are also discussing about the mass transfer and also learning the similarity between the Casson
fluid model and other model such as power law model. We are using MATLAB, TecPlot for our work.
Starting date: May’19
Date of completion: April’20
Role: Author
Paper is being submitted for publication.

3. Title: Simulation of a combustion flame in OpenFoam and its optimisation.

Description: OpenFoam is a newly developed opensource CFD simulation software. We are
simulating a combustion flame and trying to find out the optimum results for combustion and also the
fuel velocity and fuel injection position for optimum combustion. Here we are using OpenFoam,
TecPlot, MATLAB etc.
Starting date: August’19

Internship________________________________________________________

Company name: Reliance Industries Limited, Jamnagar, Gujrat.

Title: Design, construction and leak detection of steam traps.
 Gained an understanding of the overview of ROGC plant and learned in detail different types
of steam traps, their working principles and construction.
 Prepared troubleshooting checklists for different types of steam traps.
 Learned about different leak detection methods and their implementation costs.
 At the end we came up with new proposals in steam leak detection method and presented them
in front of the panel.
Duration: 1 month (Remote internship)
