Variational Iteration Method PDF

1) The document discusses using the variational iteration method (VIM) to approximate solutions to the time fractional Burgers equation. 2) It compares the approximations obtained from VIM to those from the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) and exact solutions. 3) It finds that VIM provides better approximations than ADM when 0 < x ≤ 5 and the fractional derivative parameter α = 1.

Abstract

The variational iteration method (VIM) is a analysis tool efficient for approximate non-linear fractional differential equations. Recently different investigators used this method in their works
and, we study the Lagrange multipliers of the variational iteration method for the time fractional Burgers equation and apply those in different particular cases. In this conference we present
approximations of the solutions for a particular case of the time fractional Burgers equation (BF), with the use of the variational iteration method, the Caputo derivate for 0 < α ≤ 1, after
make an comparison with the Adomian decomposition method (ADM).

Fractional Calculus Variational iteration method

We introduce the Riemann-Liouville (RL) fractional integral as: We can see that Classical and fractional differential equations are studied using VIM,
