1. Pins need to be removed from both ends
of the cartridge to separate the cartridge
halves (Fig. 1).
2. Using a 3/32 inch drill bit, carefully drill
a small hole in the plastic housing where
the cartridge pin is located (Fig. 2).

3. Drill into the appropriate area 1/8 inch,
or until the metal pin is exposed (Fig. 3).

4. Use a small punch or spring hook tool to
push the pin out from the cartridge (Fig 4).

5. Once the pin is pushed out, you will be
able to use pliers on the pin to fully
remove it (Fig. 5).

6. Repeat step three to remove the pin from
the opposite end of the cartridge (Fig. 6).

7. Repeat steps 4 & 5 to remove the pin
from the cartridge (Fig. 7).

8. Once the pins are removed, separate the
cartridge halves (Fig. 8).

9. Gently pry the drum shutter arm from
the side of the cartridge. Be careful not to
lose the tension spring located behind the
arm (Fig. 9).

10. Remove the silver retaining arms by
gently pulling away from the hopper on
each side of the cartridge (Fig. 10).

11. Remove two screws from the end cap
on the geared end of the hopper (Fig. 11).

12. Remove the end cap (Fig. 12).

13. Remove the mag roller drive gear (Fig.

14. Remove the mag roller stabilizer arm
(Fig. 14).

15. Remove the mag roller (Fig. 15).

16. Remove two screws from the mag
contact end cap (Fig. 16).

17. Remove the end cap. Remove the
white mag roller stabilizer from the end
cap (Fig. 17).

18. Clean all the residual grease from the
metal contact on the end cap (Fig. 18).
Replace with a small amount of conductive
grease for reassembly.

19. Remove two screws that secure the
doctor blade (Fig. 19).

20. Remove the mag scrapers from each
end of the doctor blade (Fig. 20).

22. Clean the toner hopper thoroughly with
compressed air or vacuum. Clean or
replace mag roller and doctor blade, if
necessary. Fill the hopper through the mag
opening with the proper gram load.
Reassemble in reverse order (Fig. 22).

23. Surrounding the drum axle is the
cartridge sensor tab; using pliers remove
the sensor tab and axle from the drum (Fig.
23). Be careful not to lose the spring
located behind the tab.

24. Figure 24 shows the correct position of
the spring on the sensor tab for reassembly
(Figure. 24).
If the spring is not installed properly in the
sensor tab, the printer will give an error
message.

27. Remove two screws from the wiper
blade (Fig. 27).

28. Remove the wiper blade (Fig. 28).

29. Clean all residual toner from the waste
bin. Clean PCR contact saddle of all
residual grease and apply new. Clean or
replace all components and reassemble in
reverse order (Fig. 29). Connect drum unit
with the toner hopper using the two
cartridge pins.

30. Remove OEM chip and replace with
aftermarket chip every cycle (Fig. 30).
