LENGuAGE

Language is essential to the daily lives of people since it is naturally used

when communicating. This has been the major rule that one cannot inhabit

communication if there were no language involved. However, it is calculated that

there are almost thousands of languages present in the world, making lots of

people misunderstood each other. So, there are such linguistic items (e.g.

phonological, syntax, pragmatics) one should consider when more than one

language is related since no language is very similar to each other. Hence,

language is indeed a tool for communication but, if and only if, it was not used

properly, language can be barrier to a communication.

It is once said that every languages have their own variations that make it

unique from others. This primarily occurred in its prosodic features, structural

variants, and other linguistic considerations. For example, different English

languages (e.g. American English, British English, etc.) may have variations in

such lexical items. One of these are with the morphological aspects which

includes such words as: analyze in American English (EA) while analyse in British

English (BE), color in EA while colour in BE, and such. So, by looking at these,

one may constitute that even when particular languages have similarities, there

are still uniqueness beyond its likeness. One difference is lying beyond its

phonological aspects that the segmental and suprasegmental features are of,

sometimes, contrasting to each other. Another is of the context lying beyond a

word. Some words would mean differently from a particular milieu to another,

making a distinction at the meaning. Thus, language, in terms of vastness, is

indeed different that some linguistic items are present in a particular language but

in some, it is not.

Hence, language is identified as vast that it has huge differences among each

other, not only with terms but in other linguistic considerations as well, like the

description, point of view, gender, and sense of responsibility. Specifically, it plays

nonidentical to every linguistic items - from the smallest chunk of language up to

the biggest - that separates each from each other. Therefore, language became a

powerful tool, not just only that it is used in communication, for creating a very fine

line among all the people in the world.
