The document contains two dashboards analyzing Covid-19 data. The first dashboard examines death rates in different countries, finding that Italy has had the highest death rate while India and the US have had very large case numbers due to their large populations. The second dashboard shows that total global cases continue rising with a 107% average monthly increase, calling into question claims of flattening curves, and finds India's average monthly case increase is 113%, slightly above the world average, placing it among the top 10 countries by case numbers.

One of the best measures to find out whether or not the country is hit as hard as its number of
cases is by finding the death rate. Death rate is the ratio of deaths to the total cases. The examples
shown above, it can be seen that the countries have high number of cases, do not necessarily
have higher death rates. Italy can be termed as the worst hit country as the number of total
deaths, cumulative cases as well as the death rate in Italy is on the higher side. As for countries
like India and USA, the population in these countries is very high which can explain the high
number of cumulative cases and deaths. Having said that, they are still not in the clear as the
number of cases in these countries are steadily rising since the past 3 quarters.

Dashboard 2

Data has been the only way to truly understand the scale and impact of Covid-19. In the
dashboard it can be seen that the cumulative cases around the world are rising. A new variable
called rate of increase of new cases was created. It can be seen in the third graph that the rate
of new cases monthly has declined in the month of September. The average rise since January in
the numbers of cases has been 107% monthly. This is not a good sign as the governments have
led us to believe that the curve is "flattening" when it is not even close. the decline in the number
of cases in the month of September could also be due to the decreased reporting in all the
countries.
When a trendline was plotted, the r-squared value is 95%. This means that the data is showing
significant trend and that the forecast is correct. It can be seen in the rise of monthly cases that
the number of cases does not increase linearly and the R-squared value is approximately 57%
only. When the number of cases graph is applied a filter to display only the graphs of India, the
average increase in the cases is 113% which is slightly higher that the world average. This can be
seen in the geography graph as well that India is among the top 10 countries with a very large
number of cases.
