These are the ONLY HS programs that require
Algebra.

FRHSD Algebra 1 requirement cont.
These programs require the completion of Algebra 1 before September
of freshman year. Students can either (a) complete Algebra 1 in middle
school (7th or 8th grade), OR (b) complete Algebra 1 in the FRHSD
Summer Academy Original Credit program in the summer before
freshman year. (Note: Original Credit courses include an $800 tuition
fee.) In both cases, students must successfully complete Algebra 1 with
a passing grade.

If your child is currently a level B math student, they can still apply and complete the requirement by the end
of the summer.

Due to the pandemic, the school will be
considering grades from:

Recommendations
● During your magnet program application- you will be prompted to choose 2
teachers for a recommendation letter (some programs require 3). The first 2
recommendations must be from teachers because their likert scale is geared
toward academics. The 3rd recommendation (if asked) can be a coach,
instructor, or tutor outside of your teachers.
● When prompted, you will be asked to type in the teacher's email address.
Make sure you address it to @mtps.org. For example, [email protected]
● In addition, please have your child email their selected teacher requesting a
recommendation to support their self advocacy, email etiquette, & manners

● Please be careful that the teacher's email address is spelled
correctly or they will not receive the email.
● The teacher you request will automatically receive the email once
you select to go to the next step.
● They will complete the recommendation and it will automatically
be attached to your child's application.

Manalapan, and Marlboro may be able to participate in the Freehold
Township IB Programme, if it is not at capacity.

✗ These students would attend Freehold Township High School for all four
years, beginning in their freshman year.
✗ Interested eighth graders (Class of 2025) must complete an interest form
online by December 18, 2020.
Students and parents/ guardians are strongly encouraged to view attend the IB
Informational Videos and attend the Q&A Zooms on October 27, 2020.

✗ Grades considered: Averages of 7th grade (all core classes) & 1st
MP of 8th grade (all core classes).
✗ If you have previously filled out an application for an older child,
you will use the same account.
✗ There will be an essay in the application.
✗ Once the application is submitted, you cannot log back in to edit
the application. You can only view your checklist.
✗ You can play sports at your home high school, but transportation
to/from practice is not provided.
✗ You do not need to have completed algebra 1 prior to attending.
