1. The principle of flexibility: This principle means that the group worker
records as a disciplined professional. The worker records according to
the nature and objectives of the agency.
2. The principle of selection: Everything should not be recorded in the
group recording. The worker records important observations about
individuals and their interactions. He selects from behavioural patterns
of the individuals. His own enabling skills and techniques applied in
group process.

in form, in language, and in length. Records should have face sheets, a
brief outline of facts and verbatim quotations of the individuals. Records
should be written systematically.

2.Process type: It is to show the worker’s reflection about the group materials.
It should cover how individuals participate in the group process, what are the
roles of individuals in the group and what is the nature of services or help. It is
a good device for organising and analyzing facts.
